"John is an excellent choice for any electrical needs in your home (or your business). We have been working on remodeling our home, and John has been responsive, timely, professional, and excellent. He has helped to update our home beautifully, and we trust him 100% with any electrical update, install, or rewiring. He has run new wires for outlets, repaired and updated old existing outlets, stood on a scaffolding to create new electrical boxes on a vaulted ceiling for a greatroom chandelier, ran wires from an attic to a bedroom for switched bedside lighting, installed dimmers, consolidated switches, and properly wired a new built-in electric ventless fireplace. Honestly, hire John. You will be so glad you did!"

"Well I almost passed out when I saw the price 1,750.00 to hard wire the 2 heat tapes to 2- 20amp GFI breakers when I was told it would be 200 -300 from the salesmen who sold me the system (buyer be aware), So now lets do the math materials 2- 20 amp GFI breakers, wire, outside water proof compartment boxes lets be generous and say 500.00 so that leaves 1,250 for labor and it took 3 hours 1 man so that's 417.00 and hour that's more than what lawyers charge. The 2 other jobs were priced at 114.00 and 84.00 so we are at 1,948.00!! I received a 15% discount if I signed up for Home Advantage Maintenance program so I paid another 69.00 to save 292.20 total project cost 1,724.80 and it took 5 hours from clock in to clock out (10 am - 3pm) with no breaks, lunch at all. I had this job priced out with another privately owned electrician and he was at 1, 138 for cash/ check only. To add insult to injury when I called to schedule the appointment they said everything will be done the day of your appointment the techs all have everything they need on the truck or can get locally if you accept the price if not there will be an 89.00 service call. Well I took off work and when my appointment was made even accepting the high price I was told this work cant be done today we have to reschedule so I need to take another day off of work, needless to say I was more than upset because we have snow and frigid temperatures coming. I'm in business too an i understand about overhead and profitability but this seems to be very excessive. As for the Tech which this is supposed to be about Todd B I can't say enough good things about him he was EXCELLENT,PLEASANT,PROFESSIONAL & INFORMATIVE from start to finish and he went above and beyond to ensure everything was understood, acceptable and to my liking. He did the work like he was doing it on his own home thinking of small things like I put the box here so it is out of the front site of your home. Never walked inside my house without covered booties, cleaned up all job sites you would never know work was done. Apologized for being miss informed by customer service, proudly represents his company in every way this is an employee i want he is definitely a keeper plus he made me pay 50% more for the job!!! In closing I always believe in you get what you pay for but I also don't want to be taken advantage of so it is up to you to judge whats right or wrong."

"We hired Cinderella to paint 5 rooms for us.  There was serious water damage in one area that the painters took extra care to repair and make sure the water stains did not shine through.  I had read a lot of great reviews for this company but there were a few that concerned us.  But after meeting the estimator, his professionalism, reasonable price and sincere desire to satisfy us we hired the company to do the job.  This was the best contractor decision we have ever made!  They worked with us to select just the right colors to flow between rooms.  They showed up on time.  They were curious and personable (if that's a word).  Perhaps the biggest thing, they respected our home and  our family.  We learned that they provide many other home services.  They gave us a very reasonable price to replace an old electrical panel that was rusted.  The electrician offered to do a quick safety inspection of our home  while he was there.  We found a bad (one of those plugs that kicks off by itself) in the half bath and he replaced at no charge.  Love these guys.  We are planning on having them pressure wash and re-stain our deck and maybe fix the siding on the garage once the weather turns warmer.  You can't please everybody but boy they sure pleased us!!!!

"I have had them for 19 years. I have had a number of issues, primarily with my air conditioning systems. It can be really costly to repair, so I have kept my policy intact. They have also made repairs to my microwave oven, my garage door a couple of times, plumbing, and electrical. They are always there for me and have been pretty responsive to get somebody to come out and fix whatever is broken. It can be as quick as the same day or 2-3 days later, it all depends on when I call and what type of service I am asking for. You have to go through a call center and push this and that. The call center could use some improvement. It's like a robo call. Once you talk to a human, they are pretty professional."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Westminster-Station, VT

While homeowners with substantial electrical knowledge might technically attempt a subpanel installation, most local building departments require permits and inspections for this type of work. Professional electricians understand local code requirements, can obtain necessary permits, and ensure the installation meets safety standards. Given the significant safety risks associated with incorrect electrical work, most homeowners benefit from hiring a licensed professional.

A standard subpanel installation takes an average of four to eight hours. This timeframe may extend if you're installing multiple subpanels or adding specialized circuits like those for spa equipment. Factors such as difficult access points, complex wiring paths, or permit processing times can also affect the overall project duration.

Adding a subpanel doesn't directly reduce electricity consumption or lower your utility bills. A subpanel simply redistributes power from your main panel to additional circuits. However, organizing your electrical system more efficiently may help prevent overloaded circuits and the associated problems. For actual cost savings, consider energy-efficient appliances and lighting instead.

The appropriate subpanel size depends on your specific electrical requirements. Consider the number and type of devices you'll be powering, potential future needs, and the capacity of your main electrical panel. An electrician can perform a load calculation to determine the most suitable amperage rating for your situation, ensuring you have adequate power without overpaying for unnecessary capacity.

A main electrical panel connects directly to your utility's power supply and contains your home's primary service disconnect. It distributes electricity throughout your entire house. A subpanel, by contrast, receives power from the main panel and redistributes it to a specific area of your home. Think of the main panel as the primary distribution point and the subpanel as a secondary branch that extends your electrical system's reach.

While electrical upgrades aren't as immediately visible as kitchen or bathroom renovations, they can contribute to your home's functionality and safety. Prospective buyers often appreciate updated electrical systems that can accommodate modern power demands. A properly installed subpanel that provides additional capacity for workshops, home offices, or future expansions could be an attractive feature for certain buyers, though the direct impact on home value varies by market.
