"Five Stars for Flawless Driveway Transformation! I cannot recommend Drive Paving and Sealcoating highly enough for anyone in need of driveway paving or sealing services in New Jersey. From start to finish, this crew provided truly outstanding workmanship and customer service. Initially, I requested quotes from several local paving companies. Drive Paving impressed me with their prompt response, detailed proposal, and competitive pricing. Sam Petty, the owner, came to my home to assess the driveway and explain all of the options. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient with my questions, and honest about setting realistic expectations. On the scheduled day, the crew arrived right on time ready to get to work. I was amazed by their skill and efficiency throughout the entire process. They took great care in my properly preparing the surface and laying the asphalt with incredible precision. The result is a driveway that looks brand new - smooth, level, and with crisp edging. Just as importantly, the Drive team went above and beyond in terms of clean-up. They fully cleared away any debris and left my property looking pristine. Customer satisfaction is clearly a top priority. Months later, my driveway still looks phenomenal thanks to the quality sealing applied by Sam and Drive. I've gotten so many compliments from neighbors! If you value professionalism, attention to detail, and a job well done, look no further than Drive Paving and Sealcoating. They transformed my old, cracked driveway into a stunning new surface I can enjoy for many years. This outstanding local business has my highest recommendation for driveway paving and sealing services."

"Alex is great. He came out, listened to my ideas for water mitigation (it was flowing into my garage), and then came up with the best solution. It is easy to get ignored, patronized to or otherwise ripped off when you are a woman alone maintaining a home. Alex did none of this. He was up and up and did precisely what he said he would do. Said he would contact me the next day, did it. Said he would finish the job in a few hours, did it. I will definitely contact him for more work when the time comes. The dry well itself remains to be tested by Mother Nature, but I cannot imagine it doing anything other than what it is meant to do. Alex also made sure the site was clean and tidied everything up when done. Cannot recommend enough."

"This review is long overdue. I contacted Sealpro Mahwah because I have seen their work in several driveways in the neighborhood. I can literally see why they are recommended. Their work looked very good on every driveway that i saw. I contacted the business and response time was very good. I spoke w Lou and he was upfront, honest and very nice. We discussed work that needed to be done- sealcoating and crack fills. We were able to negotiate the quote. I admit the quote was not the lowest of the three bids I received from companies BUT Lou seemed the most upfront of what we could expect. I was comfortable on price we landed on and very happy I went with SealPro. I have recommended to my neighbors and would use them again. Thank you to Lou, his crew and everybody at SealPro."

"The Hi Tech Construction & Restoration Corp. is truly a wonderful company ! I have had them before, and they're truly marvelous! Mr Karman, his brother, Mr. Usman and their team did such a fantastic job in repairing my roof, my deck, brick pointing, and waterproofing these areas. So far, at long last, I am leak free! They're absolutely brilliant ! I highly suggest anyone, who need such repairs, to contact them immediately. The prices for their services are very reasonable . Their work is simply amazing ! Thank you so much, Hi Tech Construction & Corp. !"

"Eric, Helder, and the team were great. I got my front walkways, stairs, and rear patio done by the MC team. They ripped up all my front walk ways and poured new cement, removed and re built my front steps, and installed a new 1,100 sqft paver patio in my yard. Will never use anyone else!"

"Hire this company, you will not regret it! We chose to hire Falletta Masonry to replace our existing patio with Cambridge pavers, a fire pit and sitting wall. Anthony arrived promptly to our house for the estimate. He marked out the approx area of our new patio and gave suggestions on our project. I could tell right away that Anthony was an expert in his field, and felt very comfortable working with him. Our project started on Wednesday, 6/26, Anthony's team of six began working on excavating our patio. By Saturday, 6/29, our pavers were installed over our new stone base, and the team came back on Monday morning to clean up the area. They cleaned it as if it was never there. Throughout the process, Anthony was very communicative and forthright, and addressed our very small punch list the day after the work was completed. I would highly recommend hiring Falletta Masonry for your next project, his reviews and his work speak for themselves. Thank you Anthony and the team for building our new patio, please see pictures of their work below. Our family will build outdoor memories thanks to Falletta Masonry!"

"The company is very professional.  Matt was very responsive and answered all of my questions.  It took a little bit longer than stated initially, but that was due to the soaker tub arriving damaged and they had to order another one.  Overall I was very happy with the company and would use them again......Livio"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Whitehouse Station, NJ

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
