"We had our garage door spring break on a Friday. American Home Shield couldn't get anyone to come out before the following week, so we inquired as to which Garage Door Companies would fix it as emergency, since my wife has medical conditions and needs to be able to travel. Of the two Garage Door Companies that are available 24 hours, A1 Garage Door Service LLC was the only one that could be there same evening. They got to our home to fix the broken spring so we could open the Garage around 8:00 pm."

"They were the original installer of the 3 garage doors and openers at the home I purchased. First time we hired them to inspect and lube the doors. When one opener went bad after 16+ years of service since new they showed up fast and put new one in. Added a new build additional attached garage and had them install 2 new doors that matched the 2005 build ones. Just had another old opener go bad and they will be coming to put a new one in. Thier prices and service is so reasonable its not even worth the effort to do it yourself. Even had them come replace a broken tention spring one time. They install the one piece overhead motor tracks too and you can't get those in the box stores with your opener. I highly reccomend this company. They show up fast, have great knowledgeable techs and reasonable prices."

"After explaining that the electrical outlet connecting the garage door appeared to be dead, and no breakers thrown, the person responding to the call suggested I had overlooked the RFI button. I reset the RFI and the garage door opener is again functional. They will be the first company to call if I have any other garage door issues (after I check the RFI)."

"SK quoted in the fall of 2014, but since this was a special size/order, it would take up to 12 weeks to arrive, so we decided to wait until spring. Called SK to place order in March and they honored the same price quote from the fall.
Once order was placed, they called 11-12 weeks later and said they would like to install the following day. They showed up promptly on the morning of the install, and quickly started the demolition, which went very well. The install was then started and went smoothly as well. The entire demo/install was completed within 4 hours.
Trim work on the inside was trimmed and re-installed, and the outside trim work was custom made to fit the opening. Finished install looks very professional and clean.
Very satisfied with the entire process. SK even did a nice job with the cleanup, leaving no mess, and even washing the glass before leaving. Would definitely consider using SK when doing other projects.
SK also replaced a broken Torsion spring on my garage door a few years back, and I was very satisfied with the work they did with that as well."

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Whitewater, WI

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
