"These guys were great! I hired them to install a laminate floor & baseboards in my lower level & they completed it quickly & professionally! I then used them to install a vanity/sink & toilet. Although the my bathroom was not plumbed for this, they were knowledgeable enough to get it done! I will continue to use them for all my handyman needs. Just a couple of nice guys with great talent!"

"Before I critique what didn't go well on the project, I'd first like to mention that the crew working at my house were kind, professional and did a great job of prep and clean up! However, there were certainly some disappointments and shortcomings which I experienced that I'd caution other potential customers. The project appeared to take much longer than anticipated due to a number of revisits for rework. On the first day, the fast drying mud/plaster wasn't drying in a timely manner as expected. I was told that it was unusual and they would need to come back another day as turning up the heat and blasting fans wouldn't expedite the process enough to continue that day. By that evening, in every room, the product developed air bubbles that were quite large (pictures 1 & 2). I don't know if this was due to a poor mix or application, but it certainly added time to rework on day 2 of the project. As day 2 of the project continued, I was sequestered to my office as there was work needed to be done in the hallway directly outside my door. By the time the crew notified me that I was able to come out, everything was completed including the tear down and clean up and the crew was out the door. There was no final walk through or discussion of the job. Sadly, as I inspected the work, I noticed that on one wall, the mud had been sprayed, but NOT knocked down to match the texture as had been done in all other areas (picture 3). If the crew or even the project manager assigned (who aside from showing up on day 1 during the prep time and then never seen again) had taken a few minutes to perform a final walk through, this may have been caught proactively. As it turned out, it required a third day of work to sand down and respray the mud to then knock it down. At the end of this effort, I was satisfied despite a bit of over spray that wasn't knocked down in certain areas as I knew once it was painted it would be decently disguised. Where my experience with JB Custom really becomes disappointing is in my follow up interactions. I requested a second quote to perform more of the same work as as we discovered the need during the first project. This effort was probably 20% (or less) of the effort of the first job, but the estimate came in at MORE than double the first job. Needless to say, I was a little shell shocked by the price. When I inquired about the disparity in price, I was told that the first job was under quoted and they spent far too many hours on the first project. The estimator went on to say that the first project should have likely been quoted at the price of the new project. I then asked for clarification as if that was the case, why would the second job be the same price for a fifth of the work. While I would not expect to pay a fifth of the price due to overhead and standard prep activities, perhaps half? The only response the estimator was able to give was "At the end of the day we are a business and we need to make money, ya know?". At that point, I realized that there wasn't much value in attempting work with the estimator or continue the dialogue. In this scenario, it feels as I the customer is being punished for the additional time booked to the project which perhaps could have been avoided with improved craftsmanship and less or no rework along with more proactive project management. The frustrating part of this scenario is that I acted in good faith and didn't complain about cracks in the knockdown texture that are literally a few inches from a big patch (~2.5ft x 4ft) that the crew addressed. I assumed that since we'd be doing business again in the near future, we'd catch it on the second go around. I also pointed these items out to the estimator for the second job and even inquired on the phone while discussing the second estimate, but never received an answer about that work that wasn't performed (pictures 4, 5, 6). Now I'm left to find a different company to perform the new work, but also address the items left by JB Custom."

"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"There is no way I could express how impressed I am with the results of my kitchen and dining room remodel. In reviewing the before and after pictures of the project its hard to believe it's the same place. I am so proud of the results I gave my permission to use pictures on the pound pro's website."

"They showed up on time and got to work. The work was completed in 3 hours including clean up of the attic insulation that fell as a result of the removal of the old unit. The new units were larger than the old ones and there is no damage to the ceiling where the hole had to be enlarged."

"AND he came in under his estimate by about 20%! I told him I wished I had more work for him because it is such a nice surprise to find someone who knows how to do building repairs and does such fine work. <br /> It took him about a week to fit me into his schedule but I had literally no other option. And were we ever glad it worked out for us for Terry to do our job. We were 100% satisfied and would highly recommend Sunrise Builders and Construction Services. <br />"

"I found Dorian Dyer's original paintings to be thought provoking and yet peaceful at the same time. <br /> He creates scenes of a simple and pure love using subjects such as eagles, geese, buffalo, people, the Earth, and the cosmos.  All of Dorian's art expresses a connection with one another and all life.   <br /> With an initial gaze at Dorian's paintings you may see an abstract or New Age piece of art, but when you relax and take a few moments to look deeper, an inner knowing of the masterpiece of all life will come forward.  There is love, beauty, and a gentle reminder of God's presence within each piece of art. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Whitewater, WI

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
