They weren’t our cheapest option but their unique cost-plus process of contracting, clear & transparent labor rates and discounts saved us thousands on our projects. We have never seen a company operate in this manner, but it just made complete sense to us, and it works extremely well. Along the way we were a bit indecisive and made a few changes which added work to the original scope, increased our budget and timeline, however Douglas immediately shifted into another gear and was able to incorporate our changes within the original design. He is extremely honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable of his trade. His communication skills and integrity were second to none. I don’t know how he handles all the stress, but he makes it look easy. All team members and subcontractors were respectful of us and our home and a pleasure to work with as well. "It was great working with John McCarter construction. I got their number after talking to my neighbor. I called them and they got back to be immediately to give me a ball park price and detail explanation on how they will bill me. Of course until they come and see exactly what's needed to be done will they have the exact price but they gave me all detail just so I know the labor and part cost needed. And how they bill about the hours of service. But gave me an idea how long it would take. So I would be comfortable with the price. After I agreed they got back to me to schedule a date and within few days everything was done. What I really liked; They said they will call me within couple days to schedule. And they did exactly that. when they called we scheduled a day and they said they will call again the day before. Again they did exactly what they said. The day before work they called to remind me and give me a window. I don't need to be there but their guy will be there to do the work will call me on that day before he comes. Again the guy calls me and let's me know he is on his way, since this work is outside I don't need to be there. He comes does his work and I come home everything looks good. I get the bill couple days later. It was so simple and clean and precise. I can't believe they did everything like they said... Is so hard to find any contractor to do what they tell you. I have met few luckily and I have met many that was very frustrating and I'm sure many people who reads review knows exactly what I'm talking about. Bottom line price was very fair. They did exactly what they told me. No surprises, very up front about the possibility cost. And they delivered what they told me. There communication is just amazing. You can bet I will be using them for all future work that I needed and they offer."

"Tom and his crew were very polite and professional. They worked constantly from the time they arrived until they left at the end of the day. They always cleaned up any mess they made at the end of the day and left the area neat. Chris, worked on the crown mouldings and baseboards and did an excellent job. The crown and the baseboards are beautiful and make the house look so polished. I absolutely love the mouldings and baseboards. The painting was done very well and I am very pleased with every room that was painted. My basement looks fantastic! The flooring and baseboards look spectacular! Tom goes out of his way to insure everything the customer wants is done. He even went with me to Home Depot to pick out the doors and locks. He also did extra tasks that weren't in the contract, such as putting vents in my furnace room because they should be there for safety reasons. I truly appreciated Tom's thoughtfulness in completing jobs in my house because they were needed or would make my home look better. I was very fortunate to find Tom and his crew, because not only were they professional and personable, but they completed all of the work I contracted for and did even more that I didn't ask for. Tom really did treat my home as if it was his and provided high quality work and a great smile too. I highly recommend Tom and his construction company to anyone looking for an honest and fair contractor, who takes pride in the quality of work performed. I only have one project left to do, but I certainly will contact Tom to do that job when I'm ready."

"I would like to thank JCJ for the excellent service you and your team provided. I typically do all my home/auto repairs myself but on the few occasions that I have hired "professionals" something has always gone wrong. Which generally leads to me having regrets about not doing the project myself. However in this case everything was perfect. Mike arrived and provided me an estimate promptly after my request. The work was scheduled and your team arrived exactly when I was told they would without delay. The team done such a great job in the demo that the work was actually performed requiring less rebuild than was anticipated originally. Which brought the project in at a lower cost than what was originally quoted. Then you immediately updated the invoice to reflect those changes in cost without hesitating. Also I would like to add that the communication process was excellent throughout the process, I knew what was going to be done and when it would be done and what it would cost to do each item on the quote. There were no surprises (except the reduced cost) and the workmanship was FANTASTIC. Like I said I typically I do my own repairs but after this job was complete and Mike came by to look at the project, I asked him to give me a quote on some more work I would like JCJ to perform for me.
