"Wonderful! Look no more: You have found a triple licensed (general, electrical and plumbing) builder who keeps on budget, has great aesthetic taste, is creative and keeps to his schedule AND he sends in a professional cleaning crew at the end of the job! What contractor does THAT? We have already hired him for two more jobs, one at our 2nd home in Sedona and for a remodel of a condo our son just bought. In between our neighbors hired Vicente for a bathroom remodel at our recommendation. They have already told me they are thrilled with hiswork. Book LEAN Construction as soon as you finish reading this...this 3 year old firm will be booked up very soon. You have found your contractor!"

"We had worked with Chris previously on a kitchen remodeling project and so knew about his abilities and work quality.  As in the past, the communication on this project and completion of the work was seamless, despite the distance between us and him.  We received a proposal to review, and had discussions regarding the specifics, and then agreed upon the work to be done as well as the pricing.  Once he started the job, it was a week from start to completion, and he even took additional steps to work with our property management company and tenant at our location to ensure the process was smooth for all.  During the project as well as when it was finished, he sent us photos of the roofing work, to keep us up to date.  The roof looks great and he also made some improvements to ensure its infrastructure integrity.  We thank Chris and his team for another job well done and will be sure to use him again for any improvement need - highly recommended! <br />"

"The job couldn't go any better than it did.  TWD was wonderful.  TWD is a first class operation and it flows from the top from its owners, Todd and Jamie.  The project manager Eric was the glue that kept the project moving forward.  The TWD employees were very punctual and Eric was on the job almost daily during the important phases of the project, and sometimes twice a day if needed.  And when he wasn't on the site he was always very accessible by phone, email or text.  All of the TWD employees took pride in the quality of the work they performed and were always very respectful of that fact that it was our home and that we continued to live in the home throughout the remodeling project.   <br /> The subcontractors were excellent as well.  The tile subcontractor was meticulous, a true artist.  Our new master shower is phenomenal.  A major portion of the work involved cabinetry and TWD's cabinet subcontractor Morgan Nielsen and his assistant Joe were amazing.  The quality of their workmanship was outstanding. <br /> The project was completed on a timely basis. Throughout the project, all of the TWD employees would tell us that their main goal was to make us happy and they accomplished that in a big way.  We highly recommend TWD."

"Alex was amazing in his work. He was punctual, kept me appraised of what was going on, kept to time frames and Informed me if there was a change as was the case because we had to take an extra day to get the floor even before placing tiles. He cleaned up his workspace everyday and treated the homeowners with care. The final product was amazing and my wife loved the kitchen"

"Adam and Jonathan did a fantastic job on a remodel of a home that was built in the early-mid 1900's in Central Phoenix.  They were helpful in suggesting design ideas, strategies to keep costs low, and overall project scope.  They brought in the right people when they needed help from other trades, and they managed everything without me being present.  I checked in on the project 3 times over the course of roughly 4-6 weeks.  Everything ended up being great, and when I walked through the house at the end, it was spotless and ready for me to rent.   <br /> They know this business, they're punctual, responsible and genuinely care about their customers.  I'll use them many times again, and am glad to have found them. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Had already spoken to 8 other contractors. Mr Rounds was the 9th one who came out, and was able to give a me quick quote right away instead of going back to get some numbers to line items before getting back to me. Estimate was fair and Mr Rounds is very responsive and attentive, and bottom line is he listened to what exactly I wanted done, and got it done. Job started on desired date, crew left site clean each day so that I was able to park in the carport, although under construction. Overall experience was very good, no complains. Some friends came by to see the finished job and will be contacting him for some work when the time comes. I highly recommend Rounds Construction. Honest, and to the point. No frills, unless you ask for it. Highly recommend. <br />"

He even went to bat for me when he insurance company was pushing me around in getting paid. His team took over 300 photos and reading to help me get the repairs I needed. I would trust Josh with anything he gets involved with."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Wickenburg, AZ

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
