"Excellent work by Hunter K., Jacey H., and Teddy F.!!! I was so impressed with the encapsulation of my crawlspace that I immediately scheduled for the crew to come back and encapsulate my basement! They were very careful and attended to details, communicated every step of the process, made sure I understood what they were doing and why, and that I was pleased with the work. The space looks, smells, and feels amazing!!! Thank you to the best crew around!!!"

"We initially hired Bluebird to waterproof and encapsulate our crawlspace. They did a great job and so we hired them again to repair some joists. Once again, the work was great. We did encounter an unexpected problem with an old sump line, but after sending an email to Bluebird, they were willing to come right out and fix the problem. I even spoke with the owner, Troy, and the way he handled the problem made me feel like a valued customer. There are always problems in home repair projects; the companies worth hiring are the ones who are quick to fix the problems. Bluebird is a company worth hiring."

"It took a couple months to schedule the work but at each piece (estimate, electrical, excavation and installation) they called ahead, arrived on time, did all the work required with professionalism and courtesy. They even volunteered to clear the snow from my driveway by shovel when my machine wouldn't start. The use of plastic sheets and a high efficiency vacuum system connected to the jackhammer kept the dust down."

"This is one of the BEST COMPANIES I have ever worked with! They are very responsive & HONEST!! - After they excavated the sites it was discovered there where Helical piers from a past job of theirs from many years ago... maybe even 20 years ago. Nolan Beery came down to Indianapolis to see the piers first hand - and covered them with their lifetime warranty. I was not the original owner that added the piers... they found the receipt that they did do the work many years ago for a previous owner of my home. They covered majority of the pier sites under their warranty. THERE ARE FEW COMPANIES THAT HAVE THIS HONESTY & INTEGRITEY LIKE ACCULEVEL. Acculevel is one of the best companies I have worked with. Hands down if you need any foundation work by a professional company that stands by their work Acculevel is the choice!"

"All Rooter arrived on time. Scott identified the location of the clog and determined that we would need to dig down to the pip to fix the problem. He gave us an estimate and got started the same day. The drain was cracked in multiple locations and filled with roots. Scott replaced the pip, filled the hole and relaid the sod. He did a great job! <br />"

"Andrew S came and evaluated our leaking gutters. He was very thorough in his analysis and went over and beyond explaining the system in detail. We're getting some estimates and most likely they'll be awarded the job. If the Company operates like Andrew then we'll be in great hands. I especially appreciate that the work is done by THEIR employees and not subbed out."

"I couldn't be happier. David came to the rescue for our seasonal cottage after the pipes froze and burst over the winter. It was a disaster. David skillfully repaired multiple pipe breaks under the floors and various bathroom fixtures that were damaged. Not only did he do great work, he's a very kind person. Patient and communicative. I wish I could hire him for all my plumbing needs! I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone"

"Floodman was professional and fast. They gave me several different options for my foundation repair. They didn’t try to sell me a bunch of services that I didn’t need. They helped me decide which option was best for my situation. We settled on a minimum invasive approach since it was just one small crack and we had not had any problems in the past. After the repair they were available to answer questions I had as I was doing my own drywall repair. They even sent one of their techs back to my house just to check and make sure the repair was curing properly. In my opinion they are the only company to call if you are having basement problems."

"The latch on my front load washer failed and flooded the laundry room.   After the initial clean up by an insurance restoration company, I was told to find another contractor as they were not interested in completing the repairs. <br /> I called Gary, from GC Contracting after reading the reviews and cannot tell you how pleased I am with his workmanship.  Gary and Dan made recommendations on laying out the laundry room and were amenable to any modifications and able to make those changes without any issues.  The laundry room is very small - 6' x 7' that previously had a stack washer/dryer unit.  I wanted to convert to side by side top load washer, which required a lot of measuring to ensure a laundry sink and washer/dryer would fit.     <br /> Gary and Dan gutted the laundry room - removed flooring, existing cabinetry, base molding and shelving units.   <br /> Laid new tile floor, patched and painted walls, replaced base molding and painted, built a custom cabinet for new laundry tub out of solid oak, attached the counter top and installed wall shelves.  In addition, Gary replaced trim in the kitchen that was removed and damaged during the flood.  <br /> Gary and Dan were done in three days.  They are professional, honest and hard working.  Their quality and attention to detail is a refreshing change.  I wish I could give them at A+++   Gary's prices are fair and reasonable.  The cost of the job included some materials plus labor.  I provided the majority of the materials - flooring, paint, primer, bar sink,  but Gary 's price included the oak wood for the cabinet, stain, hardware, base molding and additional shelving and brackets for the wall.   <br /> I have additional work I will need done early 2016 and will be calling them.  I highly recommend you give Gary and Dan from GC a call for any of your needs. <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Williamsburg, MI

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
