"Very well. Mr. Valdez is very sharp, very smart, very professional. He examined the hole, and told me that the squirrel had not chewed his way into the side of the house. Then he proceeded to seal up the hole. Afterwards, he gave me valuable information on pest control in general. I highly recommend."

"I saw a mouse a few nights ago in our house.  I tracked it to it's hiding spot but couldn't find it.  I immediately checked Angie's List and read the reviews of Terminix and other companies.  I read about how people who had bad experiences ended up turning to Mike at E &M Pest Management.  I called Mike on Thursday and he was here Saturday.  He was great.  He is very intelligent and shared his knowledge with me.  He also sprayed for bugs and spiders while he was here.  I will report back WHEN our mouse is gone.  Thanks Mike."

"I thought I had squirrels in the wall, but when Ax came out he checked around the entire house and didn’t see any signs of squirrels coming in anywhere, however he did go in attic and stated it could be nice so he dropped poison packs and said I should stop hearing the sounds within a few days. He stated he will be back in a couple of weeks. They replied to my email and even though Josh said he couldn’t make it, he will see if he could get someone out, within a hour, Ax called me and came out and took care of the problem."

"Blake Eyre provides excellent service. He diagnosed and took care of my flying squirrel problem in the attic and chipmunks around the outside. He personally did the tough work so knows the business beyond just sales. Blake is very professional, knowledgeable, always available by phone, and a pleasure to work with."

"The experience went good. We haven’t had any more problems. We’ve been at home for 30 years and we just had some bugs. I don’t know how it happened but we just had couple of bed bugs. Now they’re gone. It’s a very clean home. We tried to take care of it ourselves but we just decided to have them in. He was accurate, thorough, said he would come back if needed and respected my home. My husband and I were pleased. I have not seen any more bugs."

"Weeds were not fully controlled, but were better than without service. I needed to call for extra service often. Grass was not well maintained and more is dead than before service started."

"I have used North Shore Chimney previously for some repair work on my chimney. I was informed then that yearly sweeps and inspections are recommended. The technician, Chris H., that performed my sweep this year was very prompt, polite, and professional. I like the fact that he is CSIA certified. He provided me with a written condition report and went over the specific details with me, this gave me a thorough understanding of how a fireplace works. I recieved a discount for being an Angies List member and from the research I did their prices are very competitive. Overall I was extremely happy with the services North Shore Chimney provided from start to finish. I would recommend North Shore Chimney to anyone in need of a fireplace sweep."

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Wilmington, IL

You're likely to find nesting birds in external areas such as your gutters, eaves, porches, and chimneys. Some birds also nest in less obvious spots, like attics or even in your ventilation systems if they gain access. A reputable pro will conduct an inspection before starting any work to check for evidence of where birds may have set up roosting or nesting sites in your home.

Leaving birds to roost and nest on your home creates significant risks that affect both your home's structure and your well-being. The constant droppings, aggressive swooping, and persistent noise can damage siding, allow moisture intrusion, and stain exterior finishes. In addition, the birds’ pecking and droppings can spread diseases and parasites, which can lead to escalating repair costs and health hazards.

Yes, humane removal is possible and ensures that birds remain unharmed during the extraction process. Experts use proven methods to safely capture and relocate both birds and their nests to secure environments. Professionals employ stainless steel spikes as a deterrent while avoiding harmful techniques such as poisons or glue traps. You can rely on trusted specialists who strictly use safe, noninjurious methods, thereby protecting the birds while resolving the nuisance.

Yes, there are legal considerations when removing birds and their nests. You must adhere to strict local and state regulations, which safeguard protected native species during nesting season. Special authorization is required to remove protected birds, their nests, or eggs under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Observing these legal mandates avoids violations and ensures safe, responsible removal.

To prevent birds from returning after nest removal, you can implement deterrent methods. Installing stainless steel spikes creates a secure barrier that prevents birds from roosting without causing injury. In contrast, loose nets may entangle birds and other wildlife, creating additional hazards. A trusted professional will choose and install the optimal method to keep your home bird-free.

A bird’s nest remains viable for a period that depends on the species. The construction phase concludes within 2 days to 3 weeks, followed by a rearing stage lasting 2 to 10 weeks. Most birds become fully independent within 2 to 6 weeks, while certain predatory species require up to 2 1/2 months. This timeline can guide you on when it's safe to intervene.
