"The crew from Foundation Support Specialists, which included Hector Roman, Eddie Sanchez, Ricky Rodrigez, and Mark Willis, did a fantastic job installing piers under the stem wall between my garage and house, and also encapsulating and insulating the crawl space in my basement! They worked quickly and tirelessly to get both jobs done despite having to work in 95+ degree weather with no air conditioning. They were all very courteous and took great efforts to keep the areas they were working on clean of any debris. I will definitely use them again for any future foundation work, and highly recommend them for similar work for anyone needing these types of services."

"We had Efficient install a new gas water heater for us. We received 3 estimates, but their representative, Steve was the most professional and friendliest. They were able to get us on the schedule quickly. The installation team were on time, clean, professional, and friendly. The install was completed in a couple of hours for a good price. My wife and I are incredibly pleased with the whole experience. A big thanks to the whole Efficient team."

"My brother was out of town and had aerobic septic issues at his home.  I was asked to go to his house and stand by while the service was performed.  The compressor seemed to be out of order.  My brother had purchased his home the previous year and it came with a home owner's warranty which was due to expire.  The company was responsible for sending someone to repair the system and originally sent a plumber (which is not the same as an aerobic septic technician.  The plumber knew he was not the one needed and the company selected Aloha Septic to make the call.  I met Chris (the owner of the company) at my brother's house right on time and he set about to diagnose the problem. Chris impressed me with his knowledge and explanation of how the system works and all the complexities involved.  It turned out that the system had the wrong timer on it (apparently for over 10 years) and it had never worked with that system.  In addition, the compressor (which is like a large fish tank bubbler) had given up the ghost and quit due to age, dirt, and rust inside.  Chris replaced the timer and checked out the entire system before disassembling the compressor.  He finally said that he could take it back to his shop and try to rebuild the unit or get a new one and come back to replace it.  We called my brother, who was visiting friends out of state, and they talked and decided to go with the new one.  It took over a week for the new unit to be installed, due to factor's beyond Aloha Septic's control, but all is good now and my brother was happy with the outcome.  I would definitely use Aloha Septic for my aerobic needs but that is not possible.  Aloha Septic offices are located in Dripping Springs and I am in Bulverde which is close to 50 miles and not worth their time to come to service my system. <br /> <br />"

"Samantha (office admin) had clear, consistent, friendly, and prompt communication and continues to this day. The installation occurred on 03/15/17 with no issues. I never even met the crew as I was out of town during that time. I came home and the gutters were installed and looked great. I was really happy they suggested the leaf screens because in almost a year, I've only needed to get up there once and brush the leaves and sticks away from the gutters. No clogging of leaves (and I have a big red oak that dumps a ton of leaves on my house). I noticed right away that the way the water was moving (or not moving) on the house was an issue (I don't believe this was an installation issue, but rather a house issue). I immediately emailed Samantha about the concern and she said they would come out there and re-evaluate the installation and the gutters. I told her I wanted to wait and see how the gutters performed a little more and she told me to let her know when I wanted Dale to come back out. Well, I learned a lot about my house and drainage and gutters in the last 10 months, and I was having some major drainage issues on the property which was causing a lot of water under my house and shifting in my pier and beam foundation, so I needed to get a drainage system hooked up to the gutters and send the water out to the street (over-simplification but the details don't matter as much). I called Austin Affordable Gutters, and within a few days, Dale was out here, 10 months after install, evaluating what happened and is scheduled with a week to add two more downspouts and a splash guard, free of charge to the house and is willing to communicate with the drainage company regarding coordinating installation to make sense for what they are doing. I can't say enough about Dale, Samantha, and Austin Affordable Gutters- with this whole drainage issue, I felt I was "losing against water", and Dale and Samantha felt like a little win for me. A company that cares about me, even nearly a year later, and how their product performs and is willing to adjust it with no extra cost to me. You have a lot of choices, and I know, as a first time home-buyer, that can be VERY overwhelming. But Samantha, Dale, and Austin Affordable Gutters were definitely the best choice and I would totally choose them again."

"We have American Home Shield (AHS) and they assigned a company to come out and identify the problem. They speculated that it might be necessary to tear up the tile floor and air hammer out our chisel out concrete to get to the leak. However, it appeared that the leak was around the coupling just as it entered the floor. But it looked like a potentially expensive job and they quoted me $1800 to fix it. When I found out who would do the work and not the "older guy" who came out, I told AHS that I wanted to opt for the $500 cash-out option in my contract. I didn't want their assigned company. I told the company and AHS that I wanted to go direct and get reimbursed. I then began to look for another company that could do this and potentially save some money. I didn't like the idea of a fixed quote of $1800 for something that might not be a big deal. That's when I called Texas APS and their guy, Matt, came out to look at our problem. He looked over the situation and then gave his manager his assessment. Texas APS came back with a quote that was a range of between $750 to $2400, worst case scenario. This was much more appealing than a fixed, worst case scenario quote. Texas APS then sent out their plumbing specialist, Matt. Matt is a cautious, discerning person who carefully deterined that it appeared the crack/leak was only coming from the pipe coupling. This meant it was not below the floor level. He carefully removed the PVC coupling from around the pipe and replaced it with a new coupling and section of large, flexible, black rubber hose. This all worked and solved our problem. He was done in two hours and we saved a lot of money. I'll soon be 70 and over the years I have seen a lot of contractors and when looking for one, you want 1) someone you can trust to do the job right and 2) price it right, price it fairly. Texas APS was that company and and did just that. I have to give credit to Matt who I believe made all the difference in the world. He's a problem solver who cares about the work he does and the customer. The other company has been quoted as saying "AHS is my customer" not the consumer. Texas APS is not affiliated with AHS and only care about the end-user customer. I highly recommend Texas APS if you have a gnarly plumbing problem."

"My husband and I are blown away by the kindness and generosity of ABC staff Anna and Raoul as well as several others. We had a blowout on 290 and managed to get to their parking lot. I went inside to get an address for our road service and the staff went to work removing the tire, offering us a spare, and when her spare didn’t fit , Anna allowed us to use her personal car to get to Discount Tires to buy a spare. Just in case you were wondering if there are good people still out there, we found them. We live in Dallas area but I can assure you if we lived in Austin, we would be using this company."

"Mr. Kerlin arrived around 9:15 am and examined the door. After discussing the details of the project with me, he immediately went to Home Depot to buy the necessary materials.  While there, he called to discuss the types of wood available and their costs. Upon returning, he stayed with the job untl it was done, leaving around 7 pm. "

"Tim arrived ahead of time, but discovered that the original anode rod was harder to remove than anticipated. He needed a part for his impact driver, so after going and getting the part he returned and completed the job with not further complications. I always call Lantz's Lakeside Plumbing, and they've never let me down. They are quick to respond to calls and always friendly and personable. Great to have reliable local plumbers here in Lago Vista."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Wimberley, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
