"I purchased a roof inspection and tune-up theough Angie’s list. I was contacted quickly to set up the appointment and provided a reminder prior thereto. The technician was Mike G. who called about 10 minutes before arrival. He explained what he would do, then proceeded to inspect the attic and roof, making some repairs to the roof as necessay. When completed, we sat down to review pictures and discuss options. Mike G. explained things clearly but did not pressure us to do anything at this time. When the time comes to repair or replace the roof, we will definitely contact American Home Contractors."

"Quick summary: We could not be happier with the level of service, quality, and professionalism we received from Mackay. The gory details: We recently moved into our new home in DC, knowing that the roof on our 1920's rowhouse had the original tin roof that had been poorly maintained. After a moderate rainstorm caused some minor leaking in our second floor ceiling, we realized we couldn't delay the roof project any longer. While we received a few different estimates, Bill Jr. was able to come out the very next morning and actually talked us out of a few of the more expensive fixes as being unnecessary, saving us about $2,500 in the process. Even before we hired him, he also took an extra 20 minutes out of his day and, expertly employing some duct tape and trash bags, MacGyver'ed part of the roof covering that had been missed by the emergency repairman we retained to cover the roof with a tarp. He explained everything clearly and helped us understand why a total roof replacement really was necessary and why a repair would be insufficient. 
If we had picked on convenience and price alone, it would have been an easy choice. They started work the next day which was an unbelievable turnaround from estimate to work, since  most other companies couldn't start work earlier than two weeks out. Their estimate was $1,500 cheaper than the next closest estimate. Not only that, but they included the cost of any roof wood/beam replacements in their estimate, while other roofers gave us conditional pricing estimates and most would not guarantee a total job cost. Not only that, but they finished the whole job--a total roof replacement, including gutters, mansard, some rotted wood (included in the price!), and two skylights--in a single day. The quality of work was top-notch, the new roof looks great, and we have had zero leaks or any other problems, even in crazy downpours.
They weren't just cheaper and faster. Bill Jr and Ben are great guys, they will give you their honest opinion, and they throw in a rocking Canadian accent for free. They did everything they promised and exceeded our expectations in every way. We recommend them unequivocally.

"Anthony, George & Crew did a marvelous job.  They came promptly to the job the day after I accepted the proposal.  A crew of 5 or 6 worked nearly all day.  A major problem developed in that the sanding off of the coating wasn't working due to the tackiness of the old varnish.   Anthony offered to return my check and write off the work his guys performed, as the job couldn't be done without a major extra step of chemical stripping and scraping before the sanding and recoating.  This involved a doubling of the effort and the cost.  I accepted the increased cost, and the crew worked even on weekends (the job took nearly 3 weeks) to stay in the temperature window.  After 2 coats of the ECOS were applied, the wood looked like a piece of furniture.  I can recommend them without reservation.  Thanks, Guys!  A job well done.

Where to even begin!  I hired another contractor to replace 17 windows and a sliding door.  That contractor abandoned the job after partially installing 7 windows.  I was in a panic!  My house was torn apart, I had windows stacked on my patio, my spouse was not amused and I was turned down by numerous window/door companies.  Then Supreme Window and Door came to my rescue.  They came the day I called to take stock of the situation and while this is something they do not normally do, they agreed to complete the entire job correctly. 

Many thanks to Albert Hoffman of Supreme for his sincere interest in correcting all the problems and his efforts expediting the process.  Albert was in constant contact with the workmen all throughout the process and  kept tabs on issues and progress.

The next morning Eric (sorry, I never did learn his last name) and his helper appeared at my home ready to work.  They looked at the unfinished work, re-measured all the windows and found that every last window the previous contractor purchased was the wrong size, in some instances more than 3" larger than the openings which made a simple job a now more serious situation.  The options amounted to either tearing the window opening down to the studs and reframe or purchase another 17 windows.  Eric and Albert consulted each other and  to save me money the best approach would be to reframe the window openings.  Can you believe it?  More work for them and it saved me a lot of money!  When Eric told me not to worry that it was now their problem not mine, I couldn't believe that standing in my hallway was a young man truly interested in getting the job done and done correctly.  His demeanor, professionalism, and work ethic reflects very well indeed on Supreme.

So now I am sitting in my kitchen, admiring my new windows.  The job took a little longer than they originally expected and I hope helping me in time of need did not ruin any preexisting schedules.  Since completion, Albert and someone named Chris have called me to make sure that I am indeed happy and believe me I AM!

If I had another house that needed windows or doors I wouldn't bother calling anyone else, I already know what company is the best.  In fact I have already recommended them to 2 friends in need of doors and windows.

They came to the house and were able to complete the job in two days.  We were happy with the work that they did but found a few places that needed to be touched up after they were finished. "My 25 year old deck needed replacement from the ground up because it was poorly constructed 25 years ago.  I contacted Mr. Painter for an estimate, as well as three other companies, and his bid came in the lowest.  Nevertheless, I received the best features for my deck from his company: aluminum deck rails, solar post caps and total professionalism.   The job was done in under a week, and the deck is stunning.  The workers were courteous and well-mannered, punctual, and if they hit a snag, they worked through it.  100% satisfaction!
What I appreciate most is that Mr. Painter is well-experienced in his craft and knows how to run a business. I believe there is no task he could not accomplish.  In fact, I have asked him to renovate my kitchen, my next home-improvement project!
