"I have just retired from the military after 23 years and I'm used to calling-in a work order to have repairs made :) However, I moved back into a vacant home with my children which needed a lot of work. I was a little rushed as we were living in a hotel for 3 weeks and the hurricane caused many delays with electricity. I made my selection based on previous reviews. Here's a break down of pros/cons: Pros: - Very personable - Showed-up when scheduled - Kept me updated with progress/status - Loaned fans until air condition could be repaired - Gave a reference for plumbing repair (same day service) Cons: - Pricing: Not transparent, no breakdown of cost for materials /labor. Requested receipt weeks after work was completed/still vague. - Electrical/Roof repairs: fixes did not resolved issues - Floor Installation: gaps between walls in one room, can see sub-floor along wall/ in closet. Nicks throughout house on baseboards. One vent would not fit, had to make multiple request to get resolved. The floor needed trim due to gaps throughout the house from the carpet. Overall big improvement from old carpet. - Paint: Overall nice job, I had to remove paint chips in bathroom/kitchen and minor splatter on kitchen tile. I requested a quote for additional work I needed (new deck, repairs to doors & enclosed screened porch); while repairs were ongoing and never received an official quote. This was a great learning experience; I have gained more knowledge on what to discuss upfront. I'm looking forward to working with another contractor for remaining upgrades!"

"My husband and I had been looking for someone to complete a few maintenance repairs around our home (replacing shutters, fix trim along the rooftop, fix siding on the house, replace framework and seals around the garage door and install a ceiling fan). We recently purchased a 2nd home on Lake James with an exterior that is 100% cedar.  The exterior was in serious need of cleaning and re-staining.  It had not been maintained; and, had a significant amount of mold staining and several areas of the trim had the original finish peeling off.

We contracted with Mike and Crystal to prep and re-stain the exterior of our home.  Throughout the process, Mike demonstrated thoroughness, competency and responsibility.  Mike and Crystal took personal responsibility to ensure they delivered a quality product.  Mike kept his commitments and did not compromise his work product even when faced with the stripping process taking more time than he expected.  He completed the project per the schedule he committed.

Mike demonstrated a high attention to detail in the finishing process and ensured the project was completed to my satisfaction.  The home looks beautiful...we could not be happier.

I solicited bids from several paint contractors and evaluated several before selecting Mike.  His pricing was very competitive versus several other contractors; but, I never observed where Mike cut corners.

I would definitely recommend MIke's Painting and will plan to use Mike again when we have painting needs.

"After making plans and scheduling with Corrine and her crew. We love our new kitchen and love showing it to everyone . Nick(owner) made choosing and staying within budget and the outcome is exactly what we wanted Nick and Corrine oversaw every detail. The tear out of the old and the install of the new went as planned . And took no more than 14 working days. Installation of everything was respectfully quite and spot clean which is great because our kitchen is right in the middle of the house! Neighbor said they observed how neat the crew was and how the crew routinely hauled away the torn out cabinets and daily debris. No dumpster necessary! "They are very professional. Came explained exactly the problem and how they would go about fixing it. They showed me before and after pictures. Told me the benefits of the material used and how it would keep my wall from leaking. When the guy Steve asked if I had any questions I had none. I never had service like this before. Oh and they fixed the leak the first time and left my yard cleaner than when they came. Highly recommend."
