"I received A+ service from Granite Works. I met Bruno Valente, one of the co-owners, on my first visit. He was very friendly and helpful, not pushy like some sales people. The slab I liked the best was marked sold.  In a follow up discussion with Bruno, my brother found out that the sister to that slab was available. Bruno gave it a rating of 11 on a scale of 1 to 10, and he was right.  Bruno held the slab for a few days until I could get there. Purchased it that day, and he held it for 5 months at no charge. Many companies my brother called on my behalf would not hold a slab longer than 30 days.
When my brother was visiting from out of town, they were kind enough to bring it out of storage so that he could see it.  That day, we met Art Rivera who spent considerable time with me us and provided invaluable advice about a new counter I was adding.  He also provided other design suggestions on the backsplash and paint color, which I followed with great results. That was an extra bonus I didn't expect. So, if Art gives you advice, you should definitely take it.
The templater, Glauber (hope this is the correct spelling), was extremely detail oriented and communicated well with my carpenter and his assistant. He made a suggestion for the end cap of the new counter and the handrail behind it that made it a true work of
art.  Gus Valente (co-owner), with assistance from Eduardo (stone cutter), did a great job of deciding what parts of the stone would go where in my kitchen and fireplace.  They have an amazing eye. I was so impressed by their finding parts of the slab in totally different areas that would best connect at the seams. The installers were terrific and that process went very smoothly. I have 2 seams that are barely noticeable.  Their work in the kitchen and my fireplace surround was impeccable.
Granite Works exceeded my expectations, and I'm very picky.  My counters are a work of art.

"The owner of Stone Depot, Nick Papas, offers hands on professional service.   I am a realtor, so great service is part of my professional standard and I appreciate it in others.  Nick was always available by phone and was very responsive.  I was nervous about selecting my granite, and I changed my mind at the last minute.   Nick was very gracious and allowed me to select another granite that I preferred. His team arrived for the installation on time and did an outstanding job.  The was a minor issue with caulking, and Nick sent someone out the next day to finish it off.  I could not be more happy with my granite and Stone Depot.  I was advised to personally select my slab of granite - which I did.  All granite is different, so that was good advice.  The location for selection was in Sterling VA, which was great for me since I live in VA.
I also checked out Counter Intelligence, but found the salesman was not very concerned and did not go the extra mile to get my business.  I  had to drive all the way to Silver Spring MD to look at samples of granite slabs.  That was to far to go.  Also, their price quote was higher.  The smaller company atmosphere at Stone Depot was a much better choice for me.  I highly recommend them!

"I contacted Granite Vision and spoke with Roni, explaining that because the vanity was in an awkward place in this small bathroom, I needed help to decide what was required. Joseph and another member came within a couple of days to assess the situation, make recommendations, and take measurements. Joseph then emailed pictures of various granite slabs since I was unable to get to their site, and within a week his team installed the top, offset sink, and my faucet. Both their installer and plumber readily answered all questions. "Vince from V&C was a pleasure to work with from start to finish.  I would highly recommend him to anyone, and I will be recommending him to my parents and friends who need gutter cleaning and repair work done.  He was honest and upfront about everything during our first phone call, and from his other great reviews on Angie's List, I was confident that he would do a great job.  He gave us a rough estimate of the cost of the work we needed over the phone, as he wasn't able to do an on-site estimate (which I totally understood).  With the cost of gas and travel being what it is, I don't blame him!  Not only that, but he is very busy with other gutter jobs, so he took a description of our house and gutters over the phone, and gave me a pretty solid estimate without having to actually come out here first.  Works for me!
My initial call set up a job appointment about 2 weeks out.  I felt that if he is that busy, then he must be pretty good!! (and worth a little wait) He confirmed the appointment a couple of days before, and also called and texted me when he was on his way that morning.  I appreciate the great communication!  
Vince and his assistant completed the work in about 1.5 hours.  They cleaned all the gutters, spray-jetted the downspouts that needed to be flushed, and also cleaned off the siding on the house in the areas that they worked on.  Vince re-attached the front gutter and replaced some old bent gutter nails with new screws and brackets.  He re-pitched angle slope on the rear gutter, and spray cleaned that one as well.  He removed one section of downspout in the rear and removed a pretty bad clog.  While Vince was on the roof, he pointed out some exposed nails and other roof issues for me, which was very nice of him!  With his leaf blower he used to blow out the gutters, he even offered to blow some leaves off of our patio!  After the work was completed, he even wiped down our porch and spray cleaned our sidewalks and front porch to clean up after the job!  Quick, clean, and professional!  
We are having V&C come back in the spring to install an additional downspout in the front and rear of our house, as we only have 1 per side, and the house is a bit wide for just 1.  They'll also be replacing the last remaining old gutter in the front with a new one (with screw-mounted hidden hangers instead of nails). Vince took measurements while he was here, and we are going to schedule the work soon.   I watched all the work happen, and Vince explained everything he was doing as he went along.  They worked quickly and cleaned up like  they were never here!  Vince gave us a fair price on the entire job, and even offered to give us a deal on yearly gutter cleaning if he comes back next year.
