"I found Roger to be very professional and honest. The workmanship is excellent, and the completed project exceeded my expectations. There was a lot of attention to detail, and I did not have to ask for any changes or improvements. They got it right on the first try. They finished off the yard around the patio with sod and took care of some tree branches without me asking them to do either. I could have had a patio party the day they finished without having to clean up a thing. I would highly recommend Brick Creations for this type of project. While it was not inexpensive, I got my money's worth and a 2-year guarantee."

"They did an amazing job, replaced about 360 bad bricks from my exterior walls and made it look like new. I highly recommend Masonry Doctors and have already used them again for some foundation crack repairs and will be doing business with them again in the future."

"Extremely happy with the Haris Inc's work remodeling our basement bathroom. As a result of having to tear out walls and floors for foundation work, we had the opportunity to make improvements to a basement that is a critical living space in our small house. The project involved replacing an ancient fiberglass shower stall with a new fangled solid surface manufactured stone unit, replacing tile, lighting, and paint in a small bathroom and replaced tile in a main laundry area. As is often the case with older homes (50's) the Haris crew ran into unexpected surprises that were covered up by previous homeowners. While expanding the shower to accommodate a standard 36" base Haris had to break concrete to move the drain, remove and relocate corroded iron pipe. They were also faced with significant floor pitch throughout the basement that was masked by old tile with tons of thin-set. The project lead presented us with creative options before taking any steps that added to the cost of the project. Importantly, the crew was extremely tidy and well aware that their work would be messy. Each day they laid out and picked up drop cloths, vacuumed (often while sanding or cutting) and stored their equipment to minimize the impact on our daily living."

"I walked into my basement on Saturday afternoon to discover a pool of water on the floor.  Looking at the walls I traced it back to right above the window that sits below my kitchen sink.  I popped the paneling off the top of the window box and immediately saw that the galvanized pipe leading from the sink drain to the stack had corroded and a hole had formed.  Frantic because it was 4pm on a Saturday and I knew I couldn't use my kitchen sink or dishwasher until I got this fixed (no easy task with two toddlers to keep up with), I jumped onto Angie's List looking for a plumber with Saturday hours and a good rating.
I called McDonagh and was told they could have someone at my place in an hour.  Todd showed up at 5:30 and immediately got to work.  Patrick (the owner) showed up with his son Nolan shortly thereafter to take a look and get Todd some parts off of his truck.  We gave Nolan a piece of the pizza my kids were having for dinner as an apology for interrupting his Saturday too.  Patrick came back with a price estimate that seemed fair to me for emergency short-notice service on a Saturday night.  Todd replaced the entire section of pipe from the sink drain to the stack and was finished and out the door by 7:30, leaving us with a fully functional kitchen again.
Huge thanks to Patrick and Todd (and Nolan) who really saved the day for us.  These guys are absolute professionals and really saved us from some major inconvenience.  Would absolutely recommend and use them again.

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Yorkville, IL

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
