"Our family had a terrible experience with His Workmanship. We hired 4 workers for 8 hours for two days (9-5 each day), to weed and mulch bedding in our yard, at a cost of $4420. On our first day, we did a walkthrough to show the weeds and beds. Before the second day of work, we shared pictures of large weeds the team missed on the first day (likely they weren’t identified as weeds), and agreed that we’d be back by 5:00 to walk through and settle with the team. Evidently our e-mailed instructions, photos, and the first day's verbal instructions were not relayed, because the second day's team only finished mulching the one incomplete area left by the first day’s team, leaving behind weeds, unmulched beds next to adjacent bags of mulch. The team tried to contact me at 3:00 (as I made clear, I was at work and not available), then left. My wife returned from work by 3:30 and the team had already left without authorization and without doing any of the weeding in our verbal correspondence, e-mailed correspondence, or e-mailed photos. They left all areas that the prior days team had not begun unweeded and unmulched, along with extra mulch in our driveway right next to the unweeded and unmulched beds that we had asked them to take care of. They charged us for the full eight hours after leaving two hours early, without authorization, and without the walkthrough we agreed to do when we returned from work. All our e-mailed correspondence and Ring screenshots with timestamps are available upon request. Given that our instructions were all in writing and we followed our commitments to be available after our own workdays, we asked to be credited or refunded for the two hours they left without authorization and undone work (communicated both verbally and in writing). His Workmanship confirmed that the team was not supposed to leave without authorization, but declined to credit or refund the time they were paid to work but not working or available to work. I don’t fault workers, who probably never received any direction from the team hired on the first day or my e-mailed instructions. We paid them fully while they were on the clock but gone from the property. We don't want the company's poor communication or loose norms to affect the workers. But I do fault the company for not delivering on what we agreed upon and paid for, failing to honor our written instructions, and then not making it right with us. Given their poor internal communication, inconsistent supervision, and unwillingness to correct their mistakes, I would not recommend them, especially if you need to be away while they are supposed to be on shift. I leave you with a photo of one of those piles of mulch, next to one of the many unweeded, unmulched areas of our yard, that the team left behind mid-shift, after having been instructed to apply it. The second photo is one that I had sent them of weeds to be removed, but they were not despite all the extra time they had before they all left. (I shared the substance of the above with my contact at His Workmanship to confirm the accuracy. I was offered "one free hour" if I bought two hours additional work. We do not want "one free hour." We want the work that we paid for, but could not receive, because the team left before we returned from work and during their shift.)"

NB Dustless Blasting, LLC. is the fastest, most cost effective and environmentally friendly surface preparation there is. NB Dustless Blasting can do everything that a sandblaster can do, but better. The uses for the Dustless Blaster are too vast to list, but suffice it to say that this machine can remove virtually any type of coating from any material. How does it work? The Dustless Blaster mixes abrasive and water inside the blast tank. Imagine throwing a handful of wet sand VS a handful of dry sand. The dry sand wouldn’t have much impact on the target, but it would blow in the wind and make a big mess. The same amount of wet sand would hit the target with more force, and wouldn’t blow in the wind. The water adds more mass and energy to the blast, while preventing dust.

Calculating gravel requirements starts with measuring your driveway's length and width in feet. For a standard driveway, aim for approximately four inches of depth. Multiply these three dimensions to find cubic feet, then divide by 27 to convert to cubic yards. For example, a 24-foot by 12-foot driveway at four inches deep requires 3.5 cubic yards of gravel. Your specific needs may vary based on soil conditions and expected traffic.
Crusher run (also called crush and run) offers the most economical option, with prices ranging from $0.40 to $2 per square foot or $20 to $25 per cubic yard. This mixture of stone dust and crushed stone compacts well, making it ideal for functional applications like driveway bases.
Local quarry gravel also tends to be affordable due to minimal transportation costs. The trade-off comes in appearance—these budget options lack the decorative appeal of pricier alternatives.
A full truckload of pea gravel costs between $250 and $500, with pricing variations based on truck capacity, material type, and your location. Standard delivery trucks carry 10 to 15 cubic yards of material.
Ordering by the truckload often provides better value for larger projects compared to multiple smaller deliveries. Many suppliers include reasonable-distance delivery in these prices, making it an economical option for substantial projects.
Well-installed gravel surfaces can maintain their functionality for many years with proper maintenance. Traffic intensity, weather conditions, and installation quality all affect longevity. Regular maintenance—including raking displaced stones back into position and addressing drainage issues—extends useful life significantly.
Many homeowners find they need to add a refresher layer every few years, particularly in high-traffic areas or regions with severe weather conditions.
Adding gravel over an existing surface is possible with proper preparation. Start by thoroughly cleaning the current surface and addressing any significant damage or drainage issues. A stable foundation prevents shifting in your new layer. Consider adding a thin base layer before applying the decorative surface gravel.
Remember that adding material increases the overall height, which may affect garage entrances or property access points. When done correctly, this approach can refresh your driveway's appearance without complete reconstruction.
Gravel offers significantly lower initial costs at approximately $1 to $3 per square foot installed for standard types, compared to the substantially higher upfront investment for asphalt or concrete. However, gravel requires more frequent maintenance and occasional material replenishment.
Paved surfaces demand less regular attention but face expensive repairs when cracks or damage occur. Your decision should consider not just initial expense but also maintenance capabilities, climate conditions, and aesthetic preferences for your property.
