"Entire process went well.  Each and every time I communicated with Paramount, I got a quick and professional response.  They were able to answer questions regarding how to deal with my bar height overhang and creatively able to utilize invisible bracket supports to prevent the need for some type of external bracket or corbel support.
The price was competitive and the bid very detailed so I was able to make sure I was comparing apples to apples.  I especially appreciated the extra time and effort they put in to figure out how to eliminate two seams on the island countertops without an extra charge required.
Once we decided to go with Paramount, they directed me to a couple of granite wholesalers to choose the slabs, once the slabs were at Paramount, I stopped out to discuss the layout with them.   Bryan did the measuring, on a Monday and a week and a half later on a Wed. the countertops were installed.  Entire process less than two weeks.
Lisa's communication through the entire process was professional and always very timely.  
Installation went as planned with the install crew dealing with the invisible brackets with some creative problem solving.  Entire install took 4 hours for all 7 pieces.  Looks great and they look beautiful!  Would highly recommend to friends and family and would use them for future projects.

"Great. Project took less time than expected. Sam is somewhat of a perfectionist. He really strives to satisfy the customer. Talks through details to make sure we are all on the same page. Turned out we were using a similar stone he has put around a fire place on previous project. So, seeing pictures of that project really helped as well.
Wife is very happy. Friends coming over and really acknowledging the quality of the job just re-emphasized our decision to go with Sharpe.
We will have him back for more projects.

"Purchased a remnant for a small countertop for a wet bar. After visiting many sources found the perfect piece at Princess and also found the most comfortable experience. The price was also the best and the granite itself is stunning. "First, the sales representative, Jaime, was exceptional. Very helpful in selecting the granite countertops and laminate flooring. We also needed some carpentry done to our kitchen. He suggested a person, who also did a perfect job. The granite countertops were installed last week. Travis and Zach were marvelous. Very professional and thoughtful to our needs. They did a wonderful job. Such craftsmanship. They were on time and cleaned up when they were finished. Last Thursday and Friday we had laminate flooring installed. Steve, Erik and Larry were just great. They removed our old carpeting and pad. They installed our laminate flooring. They did a wonderful job. Just beautiful. "Overall, we are quite happy with the results and with Hal's work. He helped with the new fence design and gave good suggestions and ideas based on his experience. He hand selected the wood, planed and sanded each piece carefully, and did the installation. One glitch was that Hal misjudged the variants in the yard slopes, thereby leaving large gaps at the bottom of the fence, however, this was something he corrected (adding boards to the bottom of the fence) after we discussed it with him. He takes great pride in his work and is attentive to most details, providing a high quality finished product. We'd recommend Hal for anyone considering a fence repair/replacement you can be proud of."

"We found Steve through his ad placed on Angie's list and made the call while already evaluating some other granite shops.
 
Steve made an appointment to come our to our home the same week and as a result our re-model adventure became a better experience. We had struggled with decisions on colors and Steve offered some "gentle" opinions with reasoning behind them based on his experience and the fact that he was actually standing in our kitchen being able to visualize. In addition, his suggestions for shaping the island piece went into the final design and turned out great. We were really pleased with this part of our engagement and believe it to be a critical part of the service that we found challenging to get other places (trying to bring in photos and diagrams just can't convey the same as being at the home).
 
After the initial consult, Steve also met us at the granite warehouse to make the final selection of the slab... and also made an extra trip out to our house to pick up the sink we had ordered separately for the granite cut.
 
The day of the install Steve and his team came out and did a nice job with both the bathroom and kitchen. All were very professional, courteous and took care to clean up all debris after demo and install. I can tell you from a day being with Steve that his phone never stops ringing and he is handling it all, so I was impressed with how promptly he always returned our calls (contrary to some of the other reviews on AL). He is a hard independent owner/worker and he has very competitive quotes that had me prepared to be more patient than I needed to be, so very pleased.
 
The only issue experienced was a small gap where the granite met the stove, which I noticed during the install and asked for it to be corrected. Steve addressed it right away by shifting the slab, which ultimately resulted in a slightly wider than desired gap on the wall side. Steve offered to add a granite backsplash for free, but we went with the tile as planned and all is history.
Overall, we were very happy with the experience and would recommend SC Design and Granite! Thanks Steve.

"Timely, 2 weeks from measure to finish. Had no problems with the issue of obtaining a slab (different color) for 2 bathroom vanities. Kitchen and vanities when finished looked fantastic."

"The estimator was very knowledgeable and explained his products and services very well.  He provided a detailed plan and estimate.
The installation was done all in one day - including removal of the old counter top and the installation of the new counter top - and it was done on the pre-scheduled day.  Sears was excellent at accommodating our scheduling restrictions.  The new counter top looks nice and we are very happy with the result.
There were a few glitches - the garbage disposal leaked and needed service, and it was tough to get an updated estimate when we made a mid-stream change - but we were still very happy with the result.
Note that the Sears office that we dealt with is in Sharon Hill PA, not in Windsor Mill MA as listed by Angie's List, and the corporate headquarters is in Longwood FL.

"From the first contact to the last, dealing with GCM was fantastic!  I put a job up for bid with four contractors that I found on Angie's List, and they were very prompt in contacting me - not quick enough to show they didn't have enough to do but not so long that it appeared they had too much on their plate.
I set up an appointment to meet with Ben Meints to come out and look at what (I thought) needed to be fixed.  He arrived promptly and was professional and personable throughout the entire appointment.  We covered my initial concerns, and then proceeded to look at each area of repair.  One of the big problems was potential interior water damage due to several leaks in a pair of windows and the basement area almost directly below the window.  After having dealt with many contractors over the years, the level of attention to detail in his examination of the problem areas showed through.  He was able to get to the true source of the problems by asking questions about what I was seeing, as well as looking at other factors and really just keeping his eyes open.  Best example of this was when talking about the back deck, he started asking about the materials, any water issues around the sliding door and the basement area below it.  What I thought was an issue with pest damage (the subfloor between the main floor and basement had been chewed through by mice) turned out really to be an issue with the flashing and j-channel between the deck and the house.  Long story short, Ben was able to determine that the repairs that were truly needed were not as extensive as I thought they would be, and based his recommendations on what was needed to repair the damage and stop further damage to those affected areas.  I was initially thinking in terms of tens of thousands of dollars to repair the damage, and was relieved and pleasantly surprised when the estimate came in at a fraction of that.
When the work was to begin, Ben and the crew (Zach and Tom) showed up promptly.  (They actually showed up earlier than I thought they would, which was a pleasant surprise.)  The repairs went off without a hitch, and their pride in their work showed through.  They were also respectful of the fact that my wife was working from home that day, and made sure they had minimal impact on her work.  While all of the work couldn't be completed in one day, they got more done than I thought they would, and it was done well.  They updated my wife on the progress before they began to clean up and prepare to leave, as I was still at work.  I walked in just as they finished updating my wife on the progress, and they still took the time to go over the repairs with me and show me what had been completed and the remaining work to be done.  When it became apparent that the weather would not allow them to complete the repairs the next day, Zach let me know he would return the next day the weather wouldn't interfere.  He and Tom returned the following day, and the repairs were completed as promised.
In all honesty, I contacted GCM because the general contractor I normally used was unavailable, and I needed the repairs done before the damage got worse and winter set in.  After working with GCM, I think I have found a new first option for general contractors.  They take very good care of their customers from start to finish, and I would recommend them to anyone.
