"In April Jason came out to look at our projects and get an idea of what we wanted to have done. The next day we received a drawing and an estimate via email. Last week (June 10 right on schedule) he and his crew removed dead shrubs, rock, timbers from the front yard and dead shrubs from the backyard. They put several new plants and soil in the front and replanted some shrubs we had. They put in a low boulder wall and mulched the area in the front yard. In the backyard they planted seven new shrubs .They left the work area tidy when the day ended. On the first day we asked Jason to replace some sod in the backyard and transplant a couple of plants and put in new ones (not in the original plan, but he was very willing to do the extra work). .An area of the paver patio in the backyard had sunk with time. His crew removed the sunken pavers, leveled the area, cleaned the pavers, and put them back in the original pattern. The patio looks like new. The crew was very pleasant and worked hard. All of this was done in two days! We have worked with three different landscapers over the years, and Jason was the best. He was very hands-on and his attention to detail was impressive. Jason was extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. We highly recommend him and would use him again in the future."

"There were some communications hiccups when I first purchased the order, which was a bit frustrating.  However, once we got beyond that, communication, responsiveness and punctuality were all good.  Will probably use them next year to finish the back yard.

"Before I made my selection to go with Genadek Landscaping I did my homework!  I met with 6 different Landscapers, got estimates, read Angie's List Reviews, checked with the BBB.  The reason for this is my particular project was difficult.  I needed to replace a retaining wall that was about to fall down and hit my house.  It was about 3 feet from house and 4 feet tall (so you do the math).  Problem is that the retaining wall was holding back my neighbor's hill so I needed a Landscaper AND an Excavator.  Enter Stan Genadek.  
From the moment I met with Stan Genadek I could tell that he and his team were different.  Not only were they landscapers that understood soil dynamics, but they were also an excavators and could remove my retaining wall and build a new one the right way without damage to my house or my neighbor's hill.  Also, they were able to do other things (example - remove my old window wells and put in new ones) whereas some other landscaping companies weren't comfortable doing all the work I wanted done.  Also, I found Stan to be really pleasant to work with and could ask him any questions I had.  Stan even game me some terrific additional ideas for my yard that I ended up using.
Overall, comparing estimates I found Genadek Landscaping to be about middle of the road (in terms of price) they weren't the most expensive or the cheapest.  But really seemed to have the expertise, so I booked my job in end of July and put my $100 down to reserve my place in line.  I was told that the project would be about 10-12 weeks out due to how busy they get.  So here's a warning, book EARLY!!!  But it's definitely worth the wait, the work is top notch!
The project started around the end of September and took about 3 weeks.  The foreman's name was Mike and there was a 3 man crew.  I was immediately impressed with the work!  Very professional, great attitude, and daily check-ins and updates to let me know what was going on.  I got all my questions answered on a daily basis and the crew cleaned up after themselves each day.  I was really impressed with the work and could see that Mike and his crew truly cared about my house and my project and wanted it to be great.  Mike would even take me aside with just random pieces of advice and comments about things I could do for maintenance and upkeep with my landscaping after they left (just as a courtesy).
Once the project was completed we did a final walkthrough and went over every small detail before handing over my final check.  I was very satisfied!  I've already received a number of compliments from friends and neighbors on the work and will go back to Genadek landscaping in a heartbeat for any future jobs.
Also, I have to say Stan was great to work with on the business-side of things throughout the process as well.  I had Stan's email and cell number and whenever I left a message I'd get a quick response back and he was always pleasant to work with.

"They did a beautiful job and their work turned out very nicely. Their landscaping is A-1. Their lawn service, I had a couple problems with. I'm not sure I will renew that work with them. I had eight solar lights around my deck and over the course of the summer, three were broken. Two of those were replaced by the company, however the replacement didn't work. They mowed whether it was wet or not and tore up my yard quite a bit. I didn't see any consequence to weed prevention. My neighbors creepy charlie is still moving in my yard. Overall though, they are very friendly, nice, and extremely polite."

"They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with their service. Here's an example: we hadn't reached our 2-hour minimum after moving the table into the house, so they stayed and helped me put the table together. After securing over 20 bolts into the table there was still 15 minutes left, so they helped me take the packaging (cardboard + styrofoam) to the garbage. Thank you On Call Services, I will use your service again."

"I had high expectations of them given their standing on Angie's List. In some respects they met those high expectations. For example, Amy and team at Artistic fence were always responsive and polite in all interactions and communications. She went the extra mile coming twice to our home to finalize layout and options. The work was done at the price quoted, and there were no nasty surprises in that respect. However, our job had to be postponed multiple times due to staff issues they were having. Moreover, I found some of the work wasn't as top-notch in terms of professionalism. For example, after they cleared away excess debris, the yard was littered with bits ad pieces of fencing material that were hard to see, and usually we found them the hard way -- after stepping on them. There were also communication & coordination issues from time to time where the job crew would tell us things that were different from what Amy would. And after they reported the job done, I found a not-so-small section of fence that just hadn't been secured to the posts properly at all. To their credit, they took responsibility for that and showed up the next day to correct it. All told, I would recommend them as the end product has been good so far, and their pricing was quite competitive. I would just caution folks to build in some of these issues and annoyances into their expectations, until at least they sort through whatever staffing issues they said they were experiencing.
