Small jobs welcome

"What a great group of guys, always helpful and always going above and beyond.. the pressure washing consisted of two outbuildings, a 31 ft motorhome and a double and a single carport.. I couldn't believe what a great job they did, and I also couldn't believe that the surfaces they cleaned were actually White instead of brown! They also did painting, ceiling repair, installed a new toilet, etc etc.. they cleaned up everything after they were through and I have a few more jobs for them as well.. wonderful, helpful group"

"On the day I called him he came over that afternoon. I pointed out what I needed done & he took notes. My major issue was not a roof leak, but rainwater coming down the roof & splashing between an uncaulked house exterior wall & window. He did rectify this where a previous (non-Angie's List) contractor couldn't come up with a solution. On the front of my house, the left side roof eave) had peeling away & rotting facia board. Duffy worked on it. On the right side, his work looks more like wet sand dribbled down to form sand castles. Residents of Marina Bay have pointed this out to me several times. His worker was assigned to paint over areas where the former contractor didn't. But, after the job was completed, I saw white painted smudged thumb prints in 5 areas; on a dark blue outside front door & the rest over a light yellow gold wall paint which is no longer available. Finally, Duffy did not do several tasks & suggested (no quote) that he would get them next time. There won't be a next time. I'm going to have to give his work at 70%."

"There was a 2-3 week delay in getting the windows for the enclosed patio but no fault of Porch Masters. <br /> In fact they got us a $500 reduction for the delay. Last June I called for some small additional work on the porch & they responded immediately. It should be noted that they provided many references prior to the job. I called on 3 who were all very happy with their work. My wife & I are very happy with the total experience & are glad to give this excellent review."

"WONDERFULL!!! Hands down the best experience I've ever had with contractors or handy men/women!!! I'd strongly recommend them to anyone for anything. <br /> Punctual, responsible, clean, friendly, fast, price was reasonable, trustworthy and most of all skilled and creative. <br /> They went above and beyond my expectations. We were so pleased with the results of the room. They had ideas to share that were just what we needed and had not thought of. <br /> I've never, ever, NEVER worked with anyone like this. They showed up when they said they would. If they were going to be a couple minutes late, they'd contact us ahead of time to let us know. (and it was rare). <br /> I will never use anyone else for anything we need done around the house. <br /> I did not use my real address. I'm a private person. <br /> A+++++ <br />"

He replaced fascia and installed insulation in the crawl space under the house professionally and in record time. We believe he should be #1 on your list and recommend him highly to anyone who needs work done on their home. He is now our 'Go To' guy. Thanks Tom!!! A++++++++++++++ !!"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Young Harris, GA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
