While all the contractors were responsive, Jon Meyer, the owner of Designer Lifestyles, listened to me and re- wrote an original estimate from his company. He personally went to my home and checked everything I told him . He listened to my needs and gave us a very reasonable estimate for the ( extensive) work. We ended up selling the home “as is” because of issues collecting reasonable funds from Allstate and the fact that we live out of state. "Very well. We had a number of projects that we needed done, both interior and exterior. Joe arrived on time on the day we scheduled to go over what was needed and on the days he was working at our home. He did repairs on fences including painting, replaced a deadbolt lock, did interior and exterior painting and some repair work on ceilings including repainting. He also installed exterior floodlights on existing electrical boxes, rebuilt and reinstalled a storm-damaged wood shutter and worked on several interior doors that were not working satisfactorily. Joe works steadily and efficiently getting more done each day than I would have ever thought possible. He cleaned up all areas that he worked in and removed all debris from the premises. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Joe for “handyman” jobs. He seems willing to tackle most anything but told me up front that he doesn’t do plumbing."

"David Killian visited my house on time, looked over the job, measured the roof area, discussed the options and gave me a proposal for labor and materials. It was the 4th proposal I had received and one of the least expensive. I appreciated his explanation of the entire process; when to expect each step, how long it would take and the various options for design and materials. I felt his presentation was the best of the four I had received so we soon came to an agreement.
Before the work began we had a two day rain delay during which the dumpster and materials were delivered. Removal of the old roof and replacement with new underlay and shingles took exactly two days with his crew working from about 8AM until dark (around 7PM). All went smoothly. The crew members were all hard workers and pleasant to be around.
The crew did a fine job of cleaning up the mess after the installation was finished. Then David came back a day later and used a magnet to pick up any stray nails or other metal debris his crew had missed.
The only downside to the process was the noise generated by removal of the old roof and installation of the new one, but there is no way I know of to avoid noise when you replace your roof.
We are very happy with our new roof and recommend DS Killian Roof and Construction Co.
