"They did a great job from start to finish. We just moved into a home that needed a good amount of work and to finish the job, the stairs and upstairs bedrooms needed carpet. I had received a card from a friend who said Nei Brothers were very good. I called them and Dennis came over to measure the job and had 50 different samples with textures. We decided on a style that had a small design and they did a great job with install and clean up! Besides the carpet being installed, I didnt know they were there. Very price competitive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would recommend them!"

"My recent experience with The Carpet Guys was a very positive one. The need for new carpeting arose from water seeping through a lower level bedroom wall. Chris Higgins, my sales representative, was courteous and informative regarding my carpeting options. His close attention also proved invaluable as he identified an additional area where water was entering the room. Had he not noticed this, the new carpet installation would have been ruined. I was equally pleased with the installation completed by Jose Gutierez. Even though I had misunderstood the arrival time, he was so accommodating, and he changed his schedule to ensure my carpet was installed on time. He did an excellent job placing the carpet under newly installed closet doors. I am grateful for such great customer service! (Order # MH064760)"

"Everything went very well from the assistance in choosing the right carpeting for the stairs to the installation of the carpeting.  We were kept up to date on when it would be installed and the crew who did the installation were very professional and courteous and when the job was completed everything was cleaned up very well.
We would definitely do business with Carpet Central in the future.

"I needed some stair-runners installed. The owner, Mike, came out and measured my stairs. Mike was detailed and very knowledgable and even drew a sketch of my stairs for me. The price quoted seemed fair. Unfortunately, due to the runner material (hand knotted), and pattern i selected, Windy City Carpets was unable to install the rug the way I wanted (expanding the rugs on the pie shaped curved pieces of the stair). But they were honest and prompt, I would hire them if i need future services for more standard rugs."

"Amazing! The carpet looked nearly brand new. It is at least 9 years old and maybe a few years older than that. Stains and spots were gone. Getting ready to sell our house it was important that the carpeting looked good. They saved us thousands of dollars in replacement costs, and the job was done quickly too! We were out of town and someone was supposed to unlock the door for us, but it was locked when they arrived. They waited for 20 minutes while a friend came to let them in rather than rescheduling. (Guys, sorry again about the mixup with the door being locked!) They were professional about it and still gave us the full discount. Would absolutely recommend their service - it is the best carpet cleaning I've ever seen.

"Had carpet installed in living room just the other day and this crew was outstanding. They arrived on time and were very professional. I saved a lot of money going through a local business versus the big box stores. Thanks again the wife loves the new carpet!!!!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Zion, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
