"We were dealing with a relatively major leak in a very old tub/shower. We're planning on a complete re-do within the next few months, but couldn't survive as is and didn't want an expensive replacement that we'd just rip out in a couple of weeks. Other plumbers told us that our 3 handle set-up was just too old and couldn't be fixed, but from the moment Tim came in the door, we were in good hands. He told us he wouldn't leave until he had it fixed and he was a man of his word. He was able to rebuild stems that were at least 30-40 years old. He stopped our leaks and got us fixed so we now have months before we need to get someone in to rehab the bathroom. It's the difference between negotiating a rehab standing on a tightrope and negotiating one with your feet planted firmly on the floor. I have no doubt that he saved us more on the rehab than we payed for the repair. He also installed a new kitchen faucet while he was there. MillTown is now our first and only call for our plumbing/heating/AC/drain cleaning needs."

"Had a pinhole leak in a copper pipe, in tight quarters. Found Doug on the internet, he picked up the call. Told me he'd call me back to discuss that evening... and actually did (a rarity). Had me text pictures and based on those figured out the approach and said he'd come the next day. Came when he said he would and fixed the problem inside of an hour. Pricing was absolutely reasonable. Was happy to chat about a couple of other potential projects I had. In a world where it's difficult to find reliable skilled trades, I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Doug."

Removed the old water heater. Installed the New water heater. And updated the vent piping because it was old and out of code. They did a wonderful job. "They were extremely responsive and professional. Someone was dispatched to my home within 24 hours. He accurately diagnosed the problem - that the condensate pump had failed and needed to be replaced. He offered to replace it immediately because he had the part on his truck. The price quote ranged from $1350-$2100 depending on length of warranty I preferred. This seemed extremely high because I had the part replaced once before 3-4 years ago by another company for approx $400. I mentioned that to the installer; he indicated that the price was the price and he was sorry he couldn’t lower it. I found the identical pump online for prices ranging from $35-$75! It looked like an easy swap, so instead of paying Rodenhiser, I ordered the part from Amazon, received it the next day. I have zero experience or training and was able to swap it and fix the problem in literally 10 minutes. I understand that service companies need to charge for labor and mark up parts costs, but a repair I could do in 10 mins for under $50 should not have carried a $1350+ price tag! This was very disappointing, and I will not use them again."

"When they called (after I assume HomeAdvisor contacted them), I was told it would cost $89 to come out to give me an estimate. I had no problem with that but tried to get some rough estimate on how much a straightforward replacement of faucet would cost - but no estimate. When the plumber arrived, he first tried to get me to join some membership in order to get some percentage reduction in the cost (but I still had no idea of that cost). Bottom line was that the cost was over $600 for one hour of work. I will add that the plumber did an excellent job so I have no issues with their work. It is more about how they charge for their work. Next time, I will either find someone that is willing to charge by the hour or is willing to provide free estimates."
