"Replacing the carpet in the bedroom areas of our home was way overdue. My husband and I stopped by Atlas Floors and were surprised they carried a very good assortment of 100% wool berber carpet at such reasonable prices. Sherry gave us a very fair estimate. Several weeks later we returned and finally made a selection. Sherry educated us about the carpet we were about to purchase and carefully went through their service contract so there would be no surprises at the point of installation. The Atlas workmen were very experienced and highly efficient in their work. They moved the heavy furniture and even re-situated it when I asked them to. I was surprised to see a foreman who later came to the house to inspect the work before the crew left! Wool seams were expertly folded where the carpet met the tile floor. I am so happy with the quality of the wool carpet, Atlas' competent salesperson, Sherry, and their experienced and professional work team. I should have done this many years ago. I would definitely consider them for another flooring job."

"Jim, the owner was very responsive to get to job and it was done well and on time. The problem has been a real lack of follow thru and meeting agreements after installation. I have called, talked to Jim, left voice mails and messages for over a week asking for some kind of written warranty on the carpet and installation. Despite numerous promises, etc, nothing has been received as promised. If you want good customer service after the installation, there are plenty of other options. Very disappointed."

"We were in a dilemma after we decided to cut ties with a previous contractor. The owner was a hot mess and his workers were subpar. We were living in our office since they had to rip out the floors they installed in all three bedrooms because they damaged them. After we cut ties, Reuben (owner) from J&M was very responsive and had a genuine understanding of our situation. He came out the next day and gave us an estimate. Right away we felt the difference from Reuben to other companies. He is definitely experienced and his management background shows with his professionalism. After getting a great estimate we had them start the next day since we were all cramped in one room. Reuben bent over backwards to get us a fast estimate and start date due to what we were going through really did it for us! Also, he had a lot of great reviews on here. That helped us decide as well. In the past for us, the second part of contracted work is dealing with the workers themselves. We really do not have much interaction with workers since they do their thing and that’s it. Well, Jason showed up first on that morning and WOW!! He was awesome and extremely helpful, especially on taking questions and concerns. This was a huge plus because we are all about communication with everyone on the job. Justin and Brendan came shortly after Jason and they were the same. All three were hardworking, professional, cleaned up, and did a phenomenal job! I was a tad short on shoe mould and they offered to come back when I got the piece so they could install it. They just went above and beyond and then you add an owner like Reuben which makes this a company that you want to hire! We cannot thank you enough and will definitely call you again for future projects."

"I chose Hoffman floors because of all the great reviews. When I had called, I was told the average cost to carpet a room that size was $1000. Not too bad. I should have taken more time picking out the carpet, but I just took their recommendation because I was really pressed for time. I was in Texas for a short time (I do not live in the house; it is a rental). <br /> The guy arrived promptly to measure the room. When I called to pay for the carpet, they told me the price was $1800 - a bit higher than quoted. I guess I got a higher end carpet and a nicer padding, which I did ask for... so okay. <br /> Before the installers arrived, I removed all the carpet and old padding, but I had an area, about 24 square feet, that was tiled. I had planned on renting a hammer chisel and tearing up the tile myself. Home Depot would not rent me the chisel because I have a US Virgin Islands driver's license, and they could not figure out how to put it in the system. I called Hoffman and they told me it would cost around $100 to $150 for their guys to take up the tile before installing the carpet. <br /> The guys came, tore up the tile and installed the carpet, working within my tight schedule. I was not there, but some family members were. The family complimented the on the look of the carpet and the professionalism of the installers. <br /> Fast forward a few weeks. I am back in Texas and eager to see the floor. I was shocked to see humps in a number of places where the carpet was lifting up! I called Hoffman Floors, but had to leave a message. I was told somebody would call me back. Nobody did. After three days, I called again. This time, I received a prompt callback. They quickly scheduled somebody to come fix the carpet. I once again had to leave before the carpet was repaired, but a family member took my place. <br /> But to add just another little tweak, I received a bill for the removal of the tile.... $271! <br />"

"The flooring crew encountered the same difficulties with the floor preparation in the kitchen as they found previously in the dining room. The tile had been installed on a thick layer of mud that pitted badly when the tile was removed. However, they were able to get the floor flat, level, and smooth by using a lot of mud and leveling compound. Now there are no transitions from the dining room to the kitchen and between the great room and the foyer; the hardwood floor flows uninterrupted. It's all beautiful! <br /> <br /> After the wood-floor installation crew was finished with their work, the carpet guys came and did their work. They removed the old c carpet and pad and installed new pad and carpet in less than three hours. <br /> <br /> As before, the workers were professional, expert, and courteous. They did a good job of dust containment and of cleaning up after themselves. It was abundantly evident that their goal was to delight their customers, and they indeed accomplished it."

"We have a 2 story home and had about 80% of the carpet removed and put hardwood flooring in. Only 2 rooms have carpet left. They were dependable, reliable, courteous and neat. They were very respectable of my family. I expected it to be very traumatic. Having your house tore up and living in it isn't always fun and I dreaded it but they did such a beautiful job. They did everything they could to ensure our comfort while they did the job. I would definately use them again. I wished I would have had all the carpet taken out. I let 2 people in the house talk me into keeping carpet in one bedroom and the family area upstairs."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cibolo, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
