"Vega Remodeling did excellent work building our deck. The owner, Mr. Narciso Vega was prompt in returning calls, making estimates and adjustments, and executing the project. He took the time to understand what we wanted, answered SO many questions, and even helped us explore options we hadn’t considered. All of this at a very fair price. The finished deck is beautiful, extremely well built, and adds enjoyment and value to our home. We will gladly call on him again for future projects."

"Extremely well! This job started with speaking with Seth on a damaged gutter. He came out and inspected gutter damage then inspected my roof and noticed major wind damage that I was unaware of that resulted in a new roof. Seth worked with my insurance adjuster and really made the job happen. Freddy is a blessing to deal with then I later learned he is the owner. The crews are very friendly as I like to engage with people so I spoke with them. Oscar did an awesome job on the flashing work and even came and showed me pictures of his craftsmanship which was over the top. Even Victor the newest crew member is great to be around. He goes above and beyond and asked me several times on my spot checks if I was happy which I was. This house was built in 1956 and was built right and this job completes the house as done right. My house looks like a new one now. I'm very pleased. Freddy and Josh were even willing to work with me on payment arrangements which I was able to not need. I have ordered materials for a local contractor in my last job position and upon inspecting the materials for my job that was delivered they are the top of the line-even down to the NP-1 caulk I used to order by case loads in multiple colors. I'm very pleased. I want to thank the entire Big Anchor Team including Ashley in the office for being friendly on answering calls and scheduling work with us customers."

"I went by the word of mouth on how great they were in 2014 and had the roof done in the fall of 2014 by them and as I can remember they charged about the same as their estimate. I called them back in the spring of 2016 due to roof leaking in one spot. They came out and told us the gutters were not cleaned out and as I can remember they cleaned one section of gutters and sent me a bill for $125.00. When I complained about being charged they cancelled the billing. But they did not fix the leak as it continued to leak each down poor. In the fall of 2018 two trees of mine came down on the roof and the insurance company came out and gave me an estimate on removing the two trees and re doing the roof . It took about 60 % of the roof when the trees came on the roof. Triad Roofing came out and estimated the cost at about the same as the insurance company so I told them to do the project. Their employees came out mid November 2018 and re roofed. By the way they claimed not to be able to speck English and left the day after putting on the shingles on the roof. I asked when they were going to complete the job and they told me no speck English and left. I then checked on their work and noticed some of the wood was not replaced and could rain into the house. A couple of days later I voice mailed a message to them that the work was not completed and that a leak had started where they had worked. I believe Travis came out and checked every thing in my message including the new leak and the leak from 2014-2016. He could not find the new leak and fixed finally the old leak.I received a bill for the full amount the end of February, 2019. I called and left a message for Travis that the rear gutter was not replaced nor the leaf guards. The leaf guards the employees took with them had not been replaced. He called and said the gutter only cost $4.00 a foot and would issue a reductions on the bill. I told him the gutter and leaf guards would cost more and was told not to indicate his employees stole the leaf guards. I told him I was paying the entire bill and he hung up on me. This is way I am unable to give them a good review."

"We had a small kitchen fire on 12/14/18 with mostly smoke damage in our 101 year-old house. After a few weeks of dealing with clean-up, repair estimates, and a couple of sub-par insurance company-listed repair contractors, we contacted Sherrill. He and his son Ian came by promptly and after some discussion we decided to go ahead and re-model the kitchen (which we had planned to do in a few years anyway). They are super to work with and a family-run business that truly cares about quality craftsmanship, and it shows. The plan Sherrill drew up perfectly matched the classic look of our old home with new quality cabinetry, walls, ceiling, flooring, moving our sink, and required electrical upgrades. During the process of tearing out the old wall coverings, additional smoke and soot damage was found and Sherrill negotiated and got additional repairs approved with our insurance adjuster quickly, which required complete removal of the old beadboard smoke-damage walls and ceiling. All the old framing was sprayed and soot-sealed carefully, and insulation was replaced/added to eliminate the possibility of any smoke odors from the fire returning later. Sherrill, Ian, and Ryan did a fantastic job with all aspects of the demolition, construction, cabinet assembly/installation, new flooring & beadboard ceiling, new appliance installation, hauling off old debris, etc., and took great care to protect other areas of the house. They also ran into quite a few other issues with the old-style construction, including removing an old corner chimney, repairing the surrounding floor and part of a large rotting floor beam, and some minor framing upgrades. The sub-contractors Sherrill uses (in our case electrical, plumbing, painting, & granite countertop installation) are also top-notch, and were scheduled appropriately and at the right times during the process. We truly love our new kitchen, and the fact that it will add value to our home."

"When we realized that painting the exterior of our house didn't make sense in the long run, we decided to go with vinyl siding. We dreaded the process of finding, hiring and managing a contractor for the project, but we were pleasantly surprised. After meeting with a few recommended siding companies, we decided to get the job done by Daniel Morales and Vinyl Masters. Our dread proved to be completely unjustified. Daniel quickly assessed the job (complete siding, shutters and gutter guards for ~1300sf house), provided a competitive quote, and gave us a detailed explanation of what his team would do, including all the details of the work and the team's qualifications. We met with Daniel for the initial discussion and measurements, and again to pick out colors after we decided to use Vinyl Masters. Throughout the process, Daniel offered solid expert advice based on his years of experience. The work started as scheduled, and Daniel's crew did a top-notch job. They worked straight through each day, stopping only for lunch and a couple of short rest breaks. Aside from the expected sounds of nailing siding to the house, I happened to hear them a couple of times calling out cutting measurements down to the eighth-inch. And the results really show their attention to detail. Daniel took the time to call us after the crew left each day to touch base, answer questions, and update us on the project. On the final day, the doorbell rang, and the crew leader told me that they were all finished, and led us on a walkaround to take a look. Everything was perfect. As we were walking across the front yard, he suddenly bent down and picked up two tiny slivers of vinyl - no larger than a blade of grass - that'd been trimmed off during the job. I never even would have noticed them, but he said that they strive to never leave any sign that work had been done, aside from the new siding, itself. We encourage anyone considering home improvements...siding, windows, roofing or gutters...to call Daniel at Vinyl Masters."

"Matt and his team were awesome, said the work would be done in 10 days and were right on target.  They were professional and very responsive.  Deck and Fence look great and I will be hiring them again to waterproof them.  Price was very reasonable, especially for the amount of work that was completed at my house. <br />"

"I found Disaster Mitigation and Restoration Inc. on Angies list recently. Because they are in the mitigation and Restoration business I needed their expertise. My kitchen was covered with water since I had a water leak due to a broken pipe under the kitchen sink. They came to my home and viewed the damage; indicating that they could do the necessary repairs. I agreed to let them do the work and they completed the work to my satisfaction."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Elkin, NC

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
