"What can I say? Leo and his team are incredible. Our house was old and tired and we hired Leo to build a large front porch, that we hoped, would change the curb appeal. We wanted a multilevel porch and broad, across the front of the home, with 3 separate stair cases. The end product has simply given new life to our home! It is an incredible porch, master crafting, superior finish, takes my breath away! We strongly recommend Leo and his team, for anyone who needs work done, as we will in the future for any and all remodel or repair needs we may have."

"I’ve worked with Chris several times and will continue to hire and work with him. He has a great eye for detail, knowledge and suggestions about products, and in-depth experience with construction and remediation. My next project is replacing the siding on my 83 year old house and Chris will be my first call."

"Rick Dubrow and Cindi Landreth (from Adaptions Design) came to my home in late September 2014 to discuss remodeling my master bathroom. We discussed certain aging in place options while keeping the bathroom from looking like a handicapped bathroom. They both made valuable suggestions and the necessary paperwork was signed to start the process. They recommended a whole house inspections (P.R.C.E.), which was also done. Preliminary work was done by Patrick Martin with Mike Gill assigned as my project manager. I begin working with Tristen Graybill of Adaptions on selecting tile, plumbing fixtures, paint, etc. Due to their work schedule and my travel schedule, work did not actually start work until late May 2015. They estimated it would take approximately 5 weeks. Work included removing the bathtub and replacing it with a walk in tile shower, replacing all the plumbing fixtures in the house, adding additional electrical outlets, adding an additional light fixture, replacing the vanity light fixture, replacing drawer/door knobs, replacing bathroom light and fan, replacing the existing toilet with comfort height toilet, and replacing outside ground lights. The subs that A 1 Builders used were very professional and did quality work. Based on the P.R.C.E. inspection, additional work included replacing the back door and wood due to moisture damage, replacing dryer vents, adding insulation, etc. During the work Mike Gill noticed additional details which needed further attention, including some moisture damage on the exterior siding. He replaced the siding, and insulation, going above and beyond to find siding that closely matched the existing. Throughout this project Mike was attentive and kept me informed of what to expect each day. He did an amazing job of dust-proofing the rest of the house from the area being remodeled, including protecting the carpet. When subs were expected, he met them at the house to oversee their work. The bulk of the work was completed within the 5 week time they estimated; however, a few punch-list items remained beyond that time. The cost of this project was more expensive that I had anticipated, but their professionalism and quality of work has been very reassuring to me. I am very happy with the results and would certainly recommend them to anyone wishing to do a home renovation. Of course, I will use them again if the need arises."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Ferndale, WA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
