So it always starts with Ryan Craft, an amazing bundle of positive energy and professionalism who comes to your house, walks your property and roof, and quite honestly, "owns" the project in a way that you know every aspect is being handled the right way. As you get close, and throughout the project, he will text and email you to make sure everything is handled the right way and you are satisfied. The team you deal with re project management, scheduling, billing, and leading the crew (Caitlyn, Kandi, Nicole, Denise, Tina, Mike, roofing lead Donnie and more that I know I am forgetting) are so so helpful. But the work? Amazing - for example, my house roof has a very large and tall porch gazebo that's very difficult to re-shingle, and they not only did a great job, but asked my permission to manufacture a "better" top for it ("not" part of the project, but they thought it would be cool). They replaced a wood "stump" that stuck out the top with a perfectly formed color matching cone that looks amazing! When one smaller project was completed (trim around the garage doors) and I saw some areas where the metal was curving, Peak management came out and said not only was that going to be repaired, he thought they could have done a better job matching the color - and said if i didn't mind, they would re-do the entire project! He was right! The new color was fantastic, and they didn't even have to do that. If you are thinking of a roof, siding, gutters, etc and a competition comes in with a better price, I submit that you will get what you pay for. The 12 or so years I have partnered with Peak for my projects, I haven't been paying "just" for the cost of material or labor. I've been paying for the kind of customer service you rarely experience these days."

"Keith Roofing is great! Very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to roofing problems. They specialize in old homes in the Capitol Hill/Georgetown area. After renovating our home a couple years back we had new windows installed in the brick frame. Recently we've had mold accumulate above a doorway on top of which there is a green roof and a window. While we thought the problem was from faulty caulking where the green roof sits, the rep from Keith Roofing instantly pointed out that it was quite common for windows in these old houses to leak! He took it upon himself to caulk both the green roof and the window FOR FREE as a favor. We are sure to be using Keith Roofing in the future! If you have an old brick home in DC you have to use Keith Roofing. They know their stuff!"

"I think (hope) I ended up with a good job but it wasn't without frustration. First off, they quoted me 8-10 weeks before they could start to work. I called around to several other roofers to see if they could start sooner, and I didn't get much better lead time. It was nearly 3 months before they started work. The roof repairs were pretty straightforward other than they forgot a couple of things on the "to do" list, and needed to be reminded. Gutters and downspouts were replaced all around the house. I had some issues with how they handled the downspouts on the ground end and discovered several high spots in the gutters where water puddled up and didn't reach the downspouts. They eventually came back with some additional parts and adjusted the pitch of the gutters (this time they tested them with buckets of water) and although I wasn't thrilled with the final job, it was probably the best I was going to get. One of the problems was that the original downspouts weren't really in the right place and they just put the new ones where the old ones were. I wish the estimator had recognized that and suggested that they re-position the new ones. That would have helped with the gutter pitch problem, among other things. He told me that it's their practice to put new downspouts where the old ones were so as not to leave unused holes in the siding or leave paint that didn't age to the same color as the rest of the house as a result of being in the shadow of the downspouts. Also, he told me that there might be additional wood that needed to be replaced when they started hanging the new gutters. This is standard roofing language, but generally the unplanned wood replacements are hidden under shingles. He could have done a better job of estimating the amount of wood that needed replacement - it was nearly $1000 above the estimate/contract. I might have been able to head off a couple of the problems if I could have discussed them with the work crew, but there wasn't anyone on the work crew who had a good command of English, so communication was difficult. I ended up with a couple of kludges for connecting the new downspouts with existing (and formerly connected to the old downspouts) buried drain pipes. I hope I don't need this sort of work done again, but now I know more about what might not go right so I might be able to avoid frustration and rework next time around. However, I think I'll look for another company rather than go with Pond again - for better or worse."

"We had a leak in the master bedroom ceiling. We called RIBA Construction in for a repair estimate. HB (their estimator) inspected our roof and found a hole where a branch had fallen and poked a deep gash through the tiles, at a valley between two slants in the roof. The painted area on the ceiling of the master bedroom had puckered and split, so it needed to be refinished & repainted. There was another area in our house by a window in another window where the paint had warped that we asked HB to give us an estimate for. He examined our window frame, inside and out and told us that the window frame was no longer level underneath the vinyl siding and the wood in the corner of the window was damp and he recommended that it should be repaired. Repair of a section of roof tiles: $300 Repair of a window underneath vinyl siding: $400 Refinishing & painting of ceiling & wall by window corner: $350 Each of these three tasks was performed by different repair men on different days. The estimate and the three repairs were all scheduled promptly and with clear warning as to when they would arrive. All of the work appears to have been done well and handled professionally. We would recommend them to anyone who need one or all of these the three services that they performed."

"Gary and his team did an EXCELLENT job. And his team was very polite and personable. He is a busy small business owner but works hard and provides quality service/product. He is attentive to your requests before, during and after performing the work. Shed - My shed has a double hitch (barn style roof) so it was your simple peaked pitched roof. Gary's team removed the old shingles, replaced some sheathing, replaced the vapor barrier and installed a 40yr metal roof. They hauled away they old roofing and did a very good job cleaning up the worksite. He provided a 1st class roof that will last a very long time. House - Gary inspected and repaired a couple of flashing issues on my house. He was very meticulous on his repairs and they look great. Appear to be working after a couple of moderate (but long) rain events. I recommend Gary and his company Vanguard Roofing. I will use him again - I feel he provides quality work at a reasonable price."

"We used Mike Bennett of Springfield Roofing because we trust him. He's been their in the past when we needed him and we wouldn't go anywhere else because of him. He's fair, responsive, and a straight shooter that will work with you. Replacing a roof isn't cheap, so when we saved up the money we called him and he worked within our budget and time frame. His team showed up on time and just went to work. They were very diligent throughout, including their clean up effort - which was spotless. Beyond the work of the team putting on the roof - Springfield sends their own in house inspector to double check the work afterwards, someone completely separate from the first team just to make sure everything is done, and done right. Gives us a lot of confidence that we made the right hire. And although we know we won't have any roof needs in the near term, we will always have Mike Bennett on speed dial. "Overall, I’m very satisfied with JW Home Improvement. I had a large hole in my ceiling needing repair and painting. The estimator was punctual, efficient, and answered all of my questions. The quality of the repair is great—I can’t tell there was ever a hole there. The only hiccups were with scheduling. The technician first showed up a week earlier than scheduled. Then, he failed to come on the correct date (apparently he had an emergency, but JW failed to inform me). JW customer service was polite and helped me both times, and the third time was the charm. I did have to point out to the technician some places that he missed. Twice. But he was very polite about it, and in the end I’m very happy with the quality."
