"Seemed very nice on the phone but when I went to hire them I would of had to wait almost 6 to 8 weeks because they were totally booked out. So figured they must really have a great business just was sorry i couldn't wait."

"Everything went really well. Rob was punctual and got everything done quickly. The price was competitive. He and the contractors he brought in did an awesome job. In the master shower, they replaced and fixed some of the old pipes and fixtures, installed a new shower pan and all the tile and fixtures. He was even able to work in a curve ball we threw in and installed the niche in the shower. For the outdoor stair drain, he and his crew were able to remove the old, ineffective drain and setup a much better drain with higher capacity and that is better at absorbing the water and rain. Rob also did some research on the best options for drainage in the stair well and helped us avoid costly options that would not work long-term. We're very happy with the result. For the window well installation, he got the job done despite our indecision and patiently worked with us while we changed our minds. Now we have an installed window well attached to the wall in a very narrow space with the drainage gravel all setup and ready to go. All through the process, Rob was awesome at communicating with us, keeping us updated, and figuring out solutions with us, giving us invaluable info based on extensive experience to help us make the best possible choices."

"We purchased high end quality new shingles from Fortress Roofing. They company did a good job of removing old shingles and protecting home and landscaping. Installation of new roof was very good. However there were several unacceptable problems with the company. The satellite dish was remounted in the wrong place. We had to have the satellite company send out an installer. He found that the dish had not only been mounted back in the wrong place, but had not been mounted into a joist. It was already loose, a good storm would have torn it out. The installer put the dish on a new base as he didn't want to leave exposed holes in our new roof by removing the old base. Fortress roofing was asked on multiple occasions to come repair roof. They sent out someone to inspect the work needing to be done and was told they would take care of it, but no one ever came back to repair it. I made many calls, sent multiple email and a letter. But the company has never made the repair. One of our cars ended up with a roofing nail in the tire. Owner said he would pay to replace the tire. Unfortunately they were low profile, high performance tires with very low wear and both back tires had to be replaced--can't do just one side. It cost me over $400 dollars. I sent Fortress the bill and an explanation from the tire company and they sent me a check for only $100. Pretty sad, when I paid them well and paid them promptly. I was told i would be credited for the extra unused roofing shingles. Never received any credit. I had to call to get them to come back and pick up a lot of extra materials they had left. Ridge caps, vents, tools, valley flashing, shingles, etc. The site manager took part of stuff when he came to pick up final payment. No one ever came back. I stored 22 pieces, of very long, heavy guage color coated W valley flashing for a year, Company owner finally picked them up. I was very surprised to learn how expensive material was. The thanks I got from the company, None. They still never returned for repairs, never credited me for unused materials or made a fair compensation for damage to car tires."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Hooper, UT

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
