"First of all, it cost me $150 in addition and I had to provide all the materials. The owner, I guess he was the owner, didn't see much of him. He came out first with his helper. He then left and he came back each time his helper was out. It took two trips. What we were talking about was a bathtub with tile around the three walls, on the ceiling over the tub and I'd estimate a 4 x 4 patch of tile where the toilet is just outside of the tub. They had a problem removing the old grout. It was too hard, which didn't exactly make sense to me, but it is what it is. In their defense, the owner said to me at the end of the first day, because he came in his helper had already left for the day. When he came in he walked in, he looked at the job and he says, No, this isn't right. He said the floor isn't right. I said, Yup. He said, okay, he'll be back out here tomorrow, we'll make it right. That was good. Now, we start to go a little sour again because what didn't get good was the next day I got to wind up giving them a solution. The owner is saying well, you really need to rip up that tile. And I said, what about grout paint? Why he didn't suggest that, why I had to suggest that I've got no idea. That did the trick. It didn't get the old grout out but the old grout is in there like concrete so that's okay. I just wanted that presentable as we were redoing that bath.
Running into the problem of being unable to remove the old grout, that's not his fault. The first day he said let it dry and if it doesn't mellow out then call me. The next day, I called and he sent the young man right out. And then he showed up. He was very responsive.
He made an appointment time and they were pretty close to the appointment time. They called me and let me know, hey, I'm running about 15 minutes late but I'm on my way. That works for me."
