"Plastic roll pathways backed with adhesive were left in place too long by the remodeling contractor and, when they were finally removed, a sticky residue was left behind on the carpet. Soon, all these pathways collected enough dirt to look an entirely differnet color from the carpet. <br /> The carpet-cleaner experimented a bit with various cleaners and techniques and figured out a process to remove the tacky residue without damaging the carpet or leaving any adhesive behind. <br />"

"We had a hard time trying to find anyone who was interested in doing such a small repair.  John showed up when he said he would be there and did the work in the time frame he had stated.   We also were going to have him fix a hole that was cut into the carpet but he suggested we leave it as the repair with the patch material we had would make it look more obvious than just leaving it. <br />"

"Mike Stinson was very professional and friendly. He went above and beyond to get the entire house carpet looking like new. Chose the platinum package since it offered a few extra options we desired. It also came with a guarantee for a free cleaning within 6 months if any stain could not come up with the free stain remover they provided."

"We were prepping our condo for resale. Macias had a number of well priced carpet options. They had the best price by far. We were able to schedule with just a few days notice. Christian was the installer. He arrived on time, and completed the work, removing and replacing the carpet and pad in the living room, dining room, two bedrooms, and hallway, in 5 hours. We have used them in the past, and will recommend them in the future. <br />"

"It was time to get the carpet cleaned for my tenants who rent a condo from me. Big Dollar provided the best quote and was well recommended on Angie's List. They showed up on time, did the carpet cleaning quickly and well. The final charge was exactly what they quoted. It was a very good experience."

"Pogi came to do carpet repair same day after carpet was cleaned. He took a look at area needing repair and said he could fix it. He removed a thread from the same kind of carpet in the closet and went to work fixing it. It wasn't cheap, but it was cheaper than a new carpet. Pogi did a great job and we were happy with the results."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in North Bend, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
