"The job went very well and looked better than I imagined. I had a traditional pressure treated deck that was built 25 years ago. Maintenance was a nightmare to the point I stained the deck a solid color. This needed to be freshened up every couple of years. I tired of doing this chore so I contacted several contractors. Those contacted were not very enthusiastic and submitted extremely high bids without explaining exactly what materials they were using or a plan of attack. Brian of Carls Decking came with samples, brochures and a no nonsense explanation of what needed to be done to put me” in my happy place.” Brian inspected the frame and found it to still be level and in good shape. He suggested a total rip off of the planks and replacement of steps deck boards and railings. He even obtained the railing permit and made sure final inspection was handled. "I like them a lot. I thought the agent that came out was very good. He gave me I thought a good estimate with all the factors taken into account. There was a woman at the office that I was going to go look at fencing. Unfortunately, I broke my leg and I have a cast on; I haven't been able to get there. So far I can say the company I think is very highly rated. The cost varies according to requirements. I haven't gotten a solid estimate. I've taken a look at other things but nothing that I would compare to them. On pricing, I think they're fair. I think their product is good, the quality of the workmanship seems to be excellent, and I haven't had it installed yet. That's just a guesstimate. They replaced a fence that was hand made that I had nothing but trouble with, and they really covered every single issue that I had with that previous fence so that I wouldn't run into the same problem again, so I have a lot of optimism about this outcome."
