"I can’t say enough fantastic things about this team. I hired them to do a structural assessment/plans for my long-awaited home renovation. To start, Rob contacted me after my inquiry within the same business day. At that point I had gotten a few quotes and found their pricing to be the most reasonable. In staying with the theme of responsiveness, to keep my project on schedule, I needed plans back within about a week, and to my joy, they delivered! Before this, hiring a structural engineer seemed daunting, but they made it easy. Everyone - Rob, the engineers (Miguel & Steve) and Michelle, (their operations manager) were so accommodating and friendly. If the thought of hiring a structural engineer stresses you out, call CBS. If you hire them I think you’ll understand why I’ve given them such high praise ?"

"It was a pleasure to work with Roncor - they first listened to us in 2012 and were patient when we couldn't start the project until 2013.  Plans were created, reviewed and adjusted several times based upon our feedback.  Any changes made to the plan after the start of construction were well documented and cost disclosed.  The project began in June 2013 with excavation.  The workers were on time, professional and very neat.  Roncor was very helpful in creating a vaulted ceiling design we had in mind - it was more difficult than anticipated but it looks great!  The subcontractors they used were very professional.  We did have trouble ordering the correct windows and doors from a local lumber yard, but that was an issue with the lumber yard's window specialist measuring the wrong size and ordering the wrong doors, not Roncor's fault.  This did delay the project and finally completed in September 2013. We will use Roncor again for our remodeling projects as they allowed us to do some of the work ourselves in order to save money. They had a bit higher cost than other remodelers we looked at, but their professionalism and ability to complete the project the way we wanted was well worth it. <br />"

"After working with another remodeler to build a new kitchen for a couple of months and becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of professionalism, I contacted Vail Builders after seeing them highly recommended on Angie’s List. Jim Vail promptly returned my phone call and set up an appointment to measure the room and to meet with my wife and I regarding our ideas. In just a couple of weeks, Jim had created a set of preliminary plans and the most comprehensive contract I’ve ever seen. Jim is thorough and extremely detail oriented, which is exactly what you need in a general contractor. Jim has high expectations of his subcontractors and is responsive and fair to his clients. I will plan to hire Vail Builders for any and all of my future building needs"

"They did a fantastic job, so much so that the insulating company commented on how impressed they were with the results! It was difficult work. The type of attic we have is hard to move around in and access, but the two workers were up there for close to 12 hours without much of a break. Dave and Mark coordinated the work on the ground. They worked tirelessly until the job was fully completed, which was nearly 13 hours of work. They cleaned up their staging area nicely. Dave, Mark and the other two workers did wonderful work on removing our vermiculite insulation, which is not an easy task to do. Very impressed!"

"We have used Craig Jansma "The Legacy Building Co Inc" for several home projects including a complete master bedroom and bath remodel as well as an exterior project that included several new windows, insulation and siding. We have been very pleased with the outcome of all of these projects. Craig has been extremely reliable and transparent in discussing our projects, providing us with detailed and accurate accounts of costs and project time frames. He carefully listens to our project needs, suggesting changes when indicated aesthetically or due to structural needs but always respected our decisions. Craig and his employees are very skilled craftsmen. The quality of their work is flawless in everything from the exterior siding work to the tile that was installed in the shower and floor in the master bathroom. Craig and his employees' work has always been performed cheerfully and at the end of the day the work sites are clean and all work materials put away. Craig stands behind all of his company's work and quickly addresses any issues or concerns we have had. We would highly recommend The Legacy Building Co for anyone's home remodeling needs."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Richmond, MN

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
