"This was our second major siding project with C&T. One on our prior home and now this one. First class workmanship and close attention to detail. Start date was delayed but staff worked with us and end result was worth it."

"Fantastic--Alex is prompt and does excellent work. I had all of the very old window screens in my home replaced, including one screen that needed to be made from scratch due to a bent frame. A few years ago, Alex made a new frame for a screened patio door with great results, so I asked him to redo the screens on the windows this year. Alex arrived promptly, removed the window screens, replaced the screens, made a new frame and screen for one window, and then put the window screens back in. He worked efficiently, is friendly, and his price was more than reasonable. I'm very happy with my new screens and just as happy that I know who to call if I need additional work--Alex aka The Screen Guy. Thanks, Alex!"

"Brak was great. I had a hard deadline because of a family event with out-of-towners. Barak made sure that the project was completed on time even with a short deadline and weather related delays. He kept me advised thoroughout the project. My cedar deck really does look new again! Reasonably priced too! Great job."

"After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. <br /> <br /> We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. <br /> <br /> After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. It has added several additional months to our porch usage in our short Minnesota summer seasons. I highly recommend this product for any new screen porch or porch renovation job!"

"We replaced some original windows in our 30 year old house and one set of an H window that was 20 years old. <br /> The H Window was a triple pane that just could not hold its looks or function.  Flipping the H Window over to clean it <br /> was nice, but that operating arm allowed too much cold into the house.  The new Fibertec windows are so much <br /> quieter, I told my wife I could hear her thinking.  We got the wood veneer like the original window we replaced in 2014 <br /> and they look super.  I had a blower door test done on the house and there were no leaks on the windows.  The installation <br /> was perfect.  Clean up was very well done, no sign that they had been in the house.  We also got the new interior trim <br /> that they just started offering and that also looks super.  We did have trouble finding out what stain they used on the trim <br /> (it came stained and sealed) in order to match the wood veneer that we finished ourselves.  We are planning on doing one <br /> or two more purchases to complete the windows in the house.  They are expensive but well worth it. <br />"

"We had our old garage demolished and a new, larger concrete slab and garage constructed. The sales and estimate process went well and we were very excited and optimistic about the project. Due to weather, our start date was delayed and we recognize that is not at the fault of Sussel. <br /> We were given an estimated timeline of events and what to expect. We waited over 2 weeks for the survey crew to arrive and only when I called and informed Lynn, our project manager, was it  corrected. After the surveying was done, demolition followed. The contractor did a great job and was finished within a day. We then waited again for the next stage. The concrete crew arrived and it seemed like a good job was being done. This was finished efficiently in a couple of days. They left a small mess, but we just cleaned it up and waited for the next step. The framers arrived the next week, and they did a good job and completed the framing in 2 days. They left behind hundreds of nails all over our property. We ended up with a nail in our tire, nowhere near the garage construction site. They also left their lunch trash behind for us to clean-up. The following day, the roofing crew arrived and worked so fast and cleaned up their entire mess, leaving the trash from the job in a pile for the clean-up crew. We were very happy with this contractor. The siding was completed shortly after and the man that did this was very good and professional. The electrician arrived; however, the trenching had not been completed yet. This put the job behind again. These two items were completed in a timely manner after the initial delay. The clean-up crew finally arrived and had a pretty easy job. He even commented that we must have cleaned a lot up ourselves, because he could tell. I was honestly shocked, as I would have expected the contractors to clean-up after themselves as the job went on. Apparently, it seems to be the Sussel norm for them to leave your property a complete mess until the end. I find this very unprofessional and ridiculous. We were afraid to say anything, for fear it would never be completed or that the job wouldn't be done right. We expected the sub-contractors Sussel hires to work up to a standard and clean-up their personal garbage and possibly the construction area when they were finished. The demolition, siding, electrician and roofers did this; however, the framing crew and concrete crew did not.  <br /> In dealing with our project manager, I expected much more. I called 3 times to provide the correct phone number, as it was written down on our estimate and project plans incorrectly. Lynn continued to call my husband on some occasions, and we asked this to be changed as he is not always available to answer. I gave him the number to call and this was only followed part of the time. When speaking with Lynn, I felt mislead and like he wasn't listening to our questions and concerns. I disliked dealing with Sussel and don't ever want to do business with them in the future. <br /> Overall, the job took over 2 months---much more than the 30 days we were given as an estimate by Mike at the sales meeting. We finally have a very nice garage, bt are disappointed by the process to get here. <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Richmond, MN

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
