"We are very pleased. Jeff's attention to detail is exactly what we paid for and desired. He communicates as things develop (and they will) and we completely trust him around our home and our dogs. He brought a teen daughter along on some of the tear down, flooring, and painting days . . . we were impressed to see a young lady working hard and learning a great trade/skill. Truth is, it did our hearts good!! We would say we highly recommend him, but that can be cliche'; instead, we'll share that we currently have him submitting a quote on another job. That should say it all!!!"

"After having a bad experience with a different contractor Duncan Enterprises was very patient and understanding when working with us. They arrived when they said they would, put in a full day's work and were very attentive to our questions/concerns."

"He found a very good solution to our problem needing room in the bathroom that didn't require a remodel. He also took photos of the roof to show me what the last contractor did when he installed 50 year shingles about 5 years ago. The last contractor left a mess up there and didn't finish the job around vents and left a hole in one corner, made a mess around the chimney.
He gave us a quote and we decided to hire him as soon as I had the money to have the job done. Within a month I had the money and asked if he could come do the job. He let me know that he was swamped and couldn't get to the job for about 2 1/2 months. I asked him to do the job as soon as he was able to get to it. We talked about this on March 13. In the last 2 months I've called about 3 times and did not get an answer to any of my calls.
He must be a good contractor because he doesn't appear to have time for smaller jobs and doesn't return calls sometimes."

"My wife and I contacted Dollman Construction in early October with a challenging request. Basically, we needed to double the living space in our newly purchased home and to do it by the middle of December in time for her to move the contents of our home in Northern VA here and be settled in by the holidays. A lot to ask we knew, and after meeting with several other contractors in the area that were not willing to attempt to bring us in within the time frame we laid out, we were very pleased not only with Dollman’s “can do” attitude, but also with their professionalism and honesty with respect to the project. We wanted to finish our entire basement, including adding a full bathroom, great room, abundant storage space and an office/bedroom combination. From the onset, we were pleased with the approach. First we met with Jimmy Dollman the owner, and with his senior team to discuss every aspect of the job, there were several on-site meetings that included all of the sub-contractors that were going to be involved and then before we proceeded with anything, we were provided with detailed architectural drawings that covered every aspect of the job form the framing, plumbing and electrical to all of the side notes, the little things we wanted done that made this job unique. Throughout the project, we met regularly with the project manager assigned to our job, discussed any issues as they would arise, continued to get estimates on the timeline for completion and we were always in the loop, never blind-sided by anything. In addition, every contractor who worked on-site was respectful, treated our property with respect and were very clean, in fact the job site was left clean at the end of each day. All in all, we could not be more pleased with the job Dollman did for us, the quality of the work is excellent, the job was completed on time as promised and there were no unresolved issues or surprises at all. If you want your remodel done right – I would personally recommend Jimmy Dollman and his team of professionals, regardless of how small or large the job, your job is treated with the same attention to detail and the same priority."

"Arthur, the owner, was prompt, courteous, and reasonably priced. He stuck to his original quote and did not go over budget. He had a few different workers on site, but consistently had Eric on the project. We appreciated the continuity as it was usually just the female of the house and our young child at home. They were both very friendly and thoughtful in regards to being around children. The job took a little longer than expected, however I would much rather it take a few extra days and be done with the high quality level that Art and his team strive for. The team always made themselves available by phone or text with questions or requests (they even solved a few problems for us for free:). Their knowledge of so many different areas was impressive and there didn't seem to be anything they couldn't handle. We will definitely use Jackson & Jackson again for future projects!"

"If you don’t know by now then let me tell you that Roanoke and Roanoke County have a set of approved guidelines that they have adopted when it comes to the construction of a “New” deck where there is an existing deck. If your deck was built more than 5 years ago and you have a band board bolted into brick veneer, then get ready for this: All replacement decks are “Free Standing” . You cannot bolt into Brick Veneer any longer. Your deck must have a post at each corner and must stand alone as a structure. Now, you can attach to brick veneer for decoration IF YOUR DECK IS FREE STANDING.
Ronnie Labrie and his crew built our deck adhering to these guidlines. Ronnie and his crew performed an exceptional job with the construction and final detail of railing and band boards. Uncompromising quality and attention to detail. THIS CONTRACTOR IS BY FAR THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS !
Our deck was built with the best wood material number 1 prime Durapine by Cox and Number 2 prime for structural beams and construction. When the Roanoke County Building inspector tells you that this is the model for all decks to be copied, then we did something right. The deck rails were Oxford by Certainteed the deck stain was by TWP and is not only a sealant but a preservative that EPA has certified. The attention to detail such as the mitered corners, the composite band boards the nailing of the hurricane clips and the overall detail was impressive.
This is a wooden with composite band board and the best Certainteed Oxford railing system. The ingenious suggestion by Ronnie Labrie was to lay the boards at a 38 degree thus the entire board would be used resulting with “NO BUTT ENDS” of any boards. If you look closely every board has been screwed into each stringer board. There is NOT ONE butted board on the walking part of this deck. The beams were sandwich as three beams and were used throughout the construction. You have Three 12 foot boards by 12 inches high that were nailed and bolted to each other to create the best possible load bearing next to a steel beam. The Three 12 foot boards were not compromised in areas that could of used 10 inch high beams. From the footers , hardware, cutting , nailing bolting, cement pour, backfilling of dirt to final railings were all performed by Ronnie Labrie and his crew .

Folks, when I say you can drive a car onto this deck we are not kidding. We have had other contractors to our home doing various other jobs such as landscaping and generator work with all of them commenting on the superior work that was done on the deck. DO NOT COMPROMISE BY USING ANY OTHER CONTRACTOR……………. Ronnie Labrie is your number one ! His project management and construction ethos has resulted in a superior job and I challenge any other contractor to come by and try to pick apart any workmanship.

Bottom Line: You don’t need to look any further; Mr. Labrie is the contractor you need to choose to replace your old deck. You may also ask them to bring you by to personally see their work. From the project manager (Rob) to his contractor staff they all were the most professional folks you can meet. No one was cutting corners to save pennies and only the best workmanship was observed. See pictures and video attached to this post.
If you want to know how good Mr. Labrie is……………… well he is also the Number One person that the Top A+ contractors go to on Angies List. You can cut the middle man out and save a ton of money by going direct with Ronnie Labrie."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Roanoke, VA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
