"After getting several estimates to either recover or remove & repave my driveway, I hired R&W mainly because the estimator (Mike) spent more time looking at the job and explaining the pro's & con's of each. I went with the full remove & replace that he recommended. The job was done in stages by three different crews, I was notified when they would be here and each showed up as scheduled, worked together like a well oiled machine, were friendly and answered any questiones I had along the way. The main driveway is sloped for proper water drainage & looks great, as well as the stone driveway that is a huge relief to have it upgraded because of its wet location. D. Ciccone"

"Everything went very well. Ron has a small team that he works with to complete his jobs. He was on-site nearly every day and completed the majority of the work with Dan, someone who has been working with Ron for nearly 10 years. After they removed the deck, we had siding missing. Dan has many years of experience with siding and did a great job of replacing the missing siding (after matching the old siding color at Home Depot and painting the new siding, it is difficult to distinguish the new siding from the old). Their attention to detail was wonderful. Whenever it came to a design question or how to lay out the pavers, they made sure to check with us before proceeding. They also were careful and proactive in protecting our new driveway, fixing any soil that got damaged by their equipment, and cleaning up after their work. The concrete slab is a beauty. Ron placed large stones on the two sides of the shed base that cut into the hill, and it looks great. This is one of the nicest shed bases I’ve seen. I would work with Ron again – no hesitation! He was punctual, communicated well, and worked closely with us to ensure the patio was what we wanted. After hiring Ron to do this work, I was happy by the uniformly positive feedback I heard from others who have worked with him (e.g., workers at Sensenig's where we purchased the pavers). Although his operation is small (there are no fancy brochures or sweet-talking salespeople), it is nice knowing that you will get the “A-Team” if you hire Ron because he has only 1 team and he is on it. He also does not have much of a web presence as he relies primarily on word of mouth. In total, we paid $33,900 for this work and are happy with this price and our finished product."

"From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure working with Joe Andreassi and his crew. Joe was always responsive when I had any questions about the project, and with providing details when the work was to be completed. Joe and his crew showed up on time, and in most cases, earlier than expected. The overall cost of the project was extremely fair and appropriate. Andreassi Masonry was an all around great contractor to work with and I would definitely recommend them if you have a concrete project."

"Joe (All Around Home Improvement) and Dave (A Final Touch) installed an exterior door. We had been told by three other companies that we needed to raise the header or cut carpeting to get the door to fit. Joe and Dave got the door to fit without all the extra renovations. They saved us about $1000 over other service providers' estimates. They were prompt and professional. They cleaned up all their mess. All in all, a great experience. <br />"

"These young men were real workers and really knew their job. Cris not only came promptly to give his estimate, but they both put in 11-hour days when the old floor was jack-hammered out and when the new concrete was poured and shaped. They were neat and careful and had good suggestions--such as a wider and deeper entrance step to the kitchen which is great. They were also very willing to do extra jobs for us (carrying out a cord of firewood from the garage to to the driveway and covering it and removing a basketball pole in the front yard set in concrete.) <br /> On the second day after the floor was put in they came back to seal it and then power-washed the driveway where their equipment had been. We are very pleased with the job and certainly recommend Cris Custom Concrete. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"My storm sewer pipe from my sump broke in my front yard. Craig got the plans from the town showing where the pipes are, called to get the utilities marked, dug up the area of the breakage, and replaced the pipe. Our front garden and some bushes were pretty much destroyed, since the pipe ran underneath them. Nothing that could be done to prevent that, but Craig also took out the remainder of our bushes (deep strong roots) with the backhoe upon our request for nothing extra. My only complaint is that one cleanout from the storm sewer got buried by the backhoe and I can't find where it is anymore, which I didn't notice until well afterwards. <br />"

"Expert House Movers brought a crew of 6-8 & came in late August 2013 to start the process of raising & moving the house.  My husband had done all the prep work of disconnecting the utilities & removing the furnace, etc. They dug access ramps to the old foundation/basement with bobcats.  They poked good sized holes around the foundation so they could put in steel beams and jack up the house.  Our foundation was from 1917 & built from old creek gravel cement, so it was pretty tough.  It took three & half days to jack the house & move it over the driveway.  It seemed really fast to me.  The only thing to fall in the house was a picture off the piano.  We still had access to the house through a tall ladder to get clothes, etc. that we needed. <br /> We took over the process of arranging excavation, concrete pouring, and carpenters with more local contractors.  Expert does have concrete people & others they use in the St Louis area that know exactly the requirements needed for the new foundation. <br /> After the basement was poured & cured (curing takes about 3-4 weeks), Expert returned in October 2013 to move & set the house.  They had been in contact with the concrete man for specifications, but there were no slots for the beams when setting the house down.  A concrete worker had to come & cut those slots.  We had a carpenter on hand to finish the sill installment & make sure the sills for the permanent beams was correct & set the support posts in the basement.  We also had a friend's tractor help Expert's bobcat pull the house back over the foundation.  While all this was going on, Expert was jacking and moving supports & placing slider beams & raising & lowering the house.  The process was complete in about 2 1/2 days with care & precision.  Some of the cracks in our house even disappeared.  Great job guys. <br /> Our carpenters returned to build a staircase & some other requirements.  We are working on re-connecting utilities & returning the furnace, water heater, etc. to the new basement.  We plan to move back into the house in the first week or so in November 2013.  It's been a long process, but well worth it.  Made possible by Expert House Movers! <br />"

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Rochester, NY

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
