The repair option was less expensive, though not guaranteed to resolve the issue - as a few different things could be the root cause and it may need replaced entirely. I chose to repair it, and thankfully it resolved the issue at very little cost. Grateful to KC Metro Plumbing for following up with us on our inquiry so quickly, and coming out the next day (before freezing temp's outside were forecasted to arrive just 2 days later). I called Plumbline, as they came referred from a friend. They came out the same day and diagnosed the problem in about 20 minutes; it was just a toilet paper clog. It would have been very easy for them to have said it was something more serious, and I know there are companies that do things like this. But Plumbline did only what the job required and Dave was very pleasant to work with. We used a more 'publicized' company right when we moved here, because we didn't know better, to swap out some faucets and toilets...come to find out, they charged double what Plumbline charges for the same work.
