"We live in an 800 foot plus, condo and had a conditioning system that is more than 30 years old I had 3 companies give me estimates and after the estimates, I did extensive research into their recommendations, guarantees, equipment, promises, and procedures. We read all the reviews of the company we could find. They are highly recommended and have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee! The gentleman who came out to estimate was very nice. He respected our flooring and wore booties over his shoes. He said the installers would do the same. He explained everything in great detail. He recommended a Rheem 2 1/2 ton heat pump and a First Company air controller. I explained that our primary concern, after getting reliable equipment was noise reduction; as our current system was very noisy. He explained that a two-part system like ours made more noise than the usual system. He could not guarantee a noise level but said that new equipment is bound to be quieter than what we have. So, after we collected all this information and discussed it, my husband and I decided to go with Temperature Control. Everything went pretty much as planned, and the equipment was installed. AND it made a LOT more noise than our old system! The installer remarked on the noise right away and called the office to arrange for someone to come out and make adjustments. We live on the second floor and it sounds like a Mac truck is idling on the roof! The next day the installation manager arrived. He too agreed that the noise level was pretty bad. When the system is on you cannot hear the television or conduct a normal volume conversation! I suggested that perhaps the equipment was bigger than we needed. (The new one is twice as big as the old one) He went up on the roof to see what he could do. Nothing. He took photos and put a larger footpad under each corner. (My neighbor s equipment is also smaller) The air controller is the second part and is located in the ceiling. It too is extremely loud. Apparently, neither piece has a means of adjustment. I was told that they would check with the manufacturer and get back to us. After a week I followed up with emails to the office, the installation manager and the estimator. It is now been two weeks and I have had no response from them. We are not satisfied customers!"

"I called this company last month to do a water repiping for a rental. I was very satisfied with the efficiency and competence of these guys. However, at my own residence, I called a prominent plumbing company, one that advertises heavily, to fix a leaking pressure relief valve on a water tank they installed. This company told me that my water pressure was too high (80 psi) which it was. Their solution was to have me install an expansion tank plus install a 2 inch pressure relief valve. I then called Cal's who installed the relief valve on the 3/4 line from my meter, and said I didn't need an expansion tank. The whole price was less than what the other company was going to charge me for just the 2 inch pressure relief valve. This demonstrated to me that this company is honest and fair. Their professionalism and competence are unquestionable. From now on, I'm saving time and grief by calling them for any plumbing issues."

"We called Abacus because we wanted a second opinion on an expensive job, but in the future we'll be calling Abacus FIRST for any plumbing questions or problems. We'd already been told by another plumber that the problem was with our kitchen pump (an estimated $1200-2000 replacement cost) or our electrical system for the pump (an estimated $400-1500 cost). However, the very personable and professional Abacus tech easily found and corrected the TRUE problem ... a blockage; he then double-checked and cleaned out the kitchen pump system for good measure -- no repair or replacement was needed. Our total cost was only $186 !!!"
