After many over priced quotes, underpriced quotes with a wink and a nod to do this small job without permit, or contractors that stopped by to provide a quote that we never heard from again we received a referral from Angie's list for Superior Building Construction.  Stan came by, gave us a reasonable quote then followed up with a very professional and complete contract.  We signed with Superior and were pleasantly surprised with the continued professionalism.  We received compete drawings with architectural choices.  After our selection, it was put through the permit process.  At each point we received proper communication from Stan. Once construction began, Stan was there managing the subcontractors and working alongside.  We were delighted with each subcontractor Stan brought on board.  They were all punctual, courteous and cleaned up everything after their respective jobs were complete. With Covid supply shortages you can imagine some of the issues that arose, but with each roadblock Stan communicated with us and we worked out satisfactory work arounds. This remodel was a pleasant experience and Stan and his team made the difference. You can be confident in your project if you select Superior Building Concepts."

We hired John Wood of JAW Construction to transform a building shell originally intended to be a shop for building trusses into a small house (officially an auxiliary dwelling unit or ADU) and are thrilled we found him. The job required skills that extended beyond new construction to include the insight, skill and craftsmanship of a highly experienced remodeling expert. He possessed these in spades. Beyond his own expertise, he has assembled a set of sub-contractors that are excellent craftsmen in their own areas of expertise. The job was doubly challenging given that for much of the construction period we were out of state getting our old home ready for sale. This also meant that an extra element of trust was involved. John sent us pictures of the progress, so that we could monitor from a distance. In addition, he was able to identify and rectify several flaws in our design. As with any large construction/remodeling project, there were some unexpected expenses that came up, but John worked with us to help limit cost overruns, sometimes foregoing profits. He was also always up front about the costs of the various components. Our new home is gorgeous and reflects his sharp eye for detail. We couldn’t be happier. "Arjay and his team were fantastic. I hired them to do an addition onto my home. We demolished a bathroom and built 2 new bathrooms, an office and a large bedroom. Put on a new roof, paint, gutters, added about 500’. He recommended an architect to draw up plans that was great, and carefully scheduled all of the subcontractors from foundation, permitting, windows, electric, plumbing, flooring, tile, HVAC and carpentry. It took about 4-5 months from start to finish. He was transparent, quick to respond to all inquiries, fair in his pricing and has a good sense of humor. His subs were all great. He handled any issues that arose promptly and professionally and I couldn’t be happier about the finished project. Thank you everyone!"

In addition to work mentioned above, he removed deck boards close to house prior to demolition company, took down an old satellite dish and all cables, took down a child "climbing wall" in bedroom, took down old blinds from 5 windows, repaired the garden gate and other miscellaneous tasks. All areas were neatly calked. Projects took about two days. Cost $2,058.92"
