"Bill Maibach knows what he’s doing. We have a small, older (1940) Clintonville house and he was up to every challenge it presented – from plumbing to electrical to window and tile. Bill and his colleague, Dave, took our broken, tiny space and turned it into something clean, modern and functional. Not a day goes by without our family delighting in this new space – it’s just so pretty! Bill is a fountain of knowledge – he made helpful suggestions and every time we talked about the remodel, I learned something new. Ours was a relatively small job for his company, but he was so patient and took time to explain everything to me as this was my first ever remodel. He has seen it all - and even when faced with a rotting subfloor, crumbling wiring and ancient plumbing, he repaired, replaced and upgraded. We are a one-bathroom household, and Bill’s scheduling made sure that we were never without a toilet or water. Remodeling is a messy job, but the rest of our house stayed clean even through demolition work. I’m so pleased with Custom Home Works that I’ve asked them to remodel our kitchen in the spring."

"Tim completely gutted and remodeled our master bath as well as our kids' bathroom. Both turned out wonderful and we are very happy with his work. He put in ceramic tile floors, tiled both showers, installed tubs, toilets, vanities , painted, did all trim and hung all bathroom accessories. 

I also hired Tim to do handyman work, he installed new kitchen faucet, new light fixtures, patched drywall in our basement and painted. He also painted our front door and put new hardware on. Everything looks great.

Tim does what he says he is going to do and is very reliable and trustworthy. He is great with communication and pays a lot of attention to detail and does exactly what the customer asks him to do. He offers good suggestions when you're not sure exactly what you want to do.  He gave us a fair and  honest price and followed through with everything perfectly. He works really hard and rarely even takes a break ! I would definitely recommend Steger Renovations.

"We recently remodeled a 100 year-old Craftsman home. We initially discussed the project with Mose Troyer and were very impressed with his knowledge and advice. The project required replacing and replicating a considerable amount of the woodwork. Mose also modified the existing Shaker kitchen cabinets. Modifications included building new cabinets to match the existing ones. He also adjusted several cabinets while maintaining the original look of the cabinetry. Mose also completely built an entire wall of pantry cabinets in the Shaker style. He installed new baseboards and window trim. He rebuilt and repaired existing window trim in several other rooms. Mose integrated the repairs to the point that after painting no one could discern that the sill had been repaired. His work was flawless. In addition, he walled off a doorway and built a bookcase with enclosed shelves in the lower half. He installed 10 new doors with hardware in line with the original style of the home. He also installed two barn doors with hardware. He is conscientious and easy to work with. Without his creativity and craftsmanship the project would never have been as successful and we’re thrilled with the results. Without reservation, we highly recommend Mose for cabinetry/carpentry work."

"Cortez A1 Remodeling completed a front hall coat closet renovation for me that involved stripping wallpaper, removing stipple from the closet ceiling and sanding, priming, and painting, replacing an MDF shelf with red oak and mitre cutting PVC baseboards for the closet. Francisco and his dad, a master carpenter, also took care of the fine details for a staircase remodel, adding end pieces for unfinished edges. Cortez A1 Remodeling was on time, communicated well, and competent. I have other house projects requiring plumbing and electrical work. "It went very well since the timing was important to us because we are not here year round. As in any remodeling project there were hiccups for delivery of product or product quality but Randy (the owner) was always available to us. He not only was available to discuss but was very willing to work with us on their work schedule and the work to be performed. His crews were very professional and did very good work. Several of them we were comfortable enough with allowing them access to our home without us being there. In the end of this construction journey we not only have a beautiful remodeled home but feel that we have solid relationship with a contractor who has become a friend and "go to contractor" for our life."
