"We got off to a rocky start by getting no response to initial call for repair.  We were told by the answering service that a technician would get right back to us, but we had to call again an hour later after not hearing from anyone and we knew the later it got (it was close to 8pm by this time) the less likely it would be that someone would come out.  After our second call, Ben called us within 5 minutes.  He tried to help us with a "bandaid" fix until the morning which turned out not to work so we went through the night with no air conditioning.  He told us to call first thing in the morning when the office opened at 8am which we did.
Within 5 minutes of our first call in the morning, we received a call from Richard who indicated he would be at our house within 30 minutes and you could have set your watch to that.  30 minutes right on the button.  He did inform us right up front what the fee would be which was appreciated and he had the air conditioner problem diagnosed and fixed in 10 minutes and cool air coming through the house in no time.
Richard was both professional and personable and very thorough in explaining what he did and why and even gave the origin of the part he used (part was made in the US).  We were so pleased with the service we received even though it didn't start out promising that we signed up for bi-annual service with them.
We would have no hesitation recommending this company to anyone based on the service we received from Richard.

"I had this scheduled for a specific time. I work at home and cancelled a meeting so I could get them started. They called about a half hour prior and said they would be late so they showed up during another meeting (uhhgg). They did a good job. A team of 3 guys took off all my covers and cleaned them. They were pretty quick and efficient and professional. The only complaint I have is the whole duct cleaning was a $149 special and you could purchase "add on" services. I wanted my dryer duct cleaned which is a $75 service (but they do it for $50 for Angies list customer). They did this and it didn't take any longer or more effort than a regular duct and it was a third of the price of all the duct cleaning. A few days after they left my wife found all the lint from the cleaned out duct crammed into the outlet in our alley way, so their vacuum equipment apparently didn't work so well. I've never had my ducts cleaned before so I don't know what to compare it to.

*** I have recently added the Nashville area to my service coverage. Since I can do most of my services remotely with you over the phone, I am hoping to eventually open up to larger markets and help people from having to take their computer in to get it fixed, if it has internet access, I can usually fix it over the Internet. Just trying to do more to help my Angies List customers!!******** I am a sole proprietor that works out of my home. I am my only employee, but I have over 20 years experience fixing computers, and providing superior customer service. I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! If you have a computer problem, I promise you that you couldn't find a better technician that will care about you as a customer, and not about the bottom line. I am always available, but don't always answer my phone, but if you leave a message, I promise to back with you as soon as possible...and figure out how to get your issue resolved in a quick, efficient and economical manner. Thanks so much for reading my ad, and I look forward to working for you!

"The crew:

My Three Men and a Truck crew were Mario, Brandon, and George. They arrived within 30 minutes of our scheduled start time. They introduced themselves to me, we spent a few minutes going over the paperwork, and then the guys got started!
---
At the apartment we moved out of:

The crew efficiently split into separate tasks: one was focused on sorting boxes into manageable 4/5 box stacks in a nice line while another crew member came in with the dolly to move out the boxes quickly. They were very careful with any boxes that we labeled as glass or fragile, ensuring that they were not put with other boxes on top of them and so forth. Another team member was focused on completely wrapping all of my furniture in moving pads and then shrink wrapping them head to toe to protect the items from bumps, scuffs, scratches and dirt. They even put each of my matresses in a mattress bag to protect them. As each team member completed their tasks, they helped the other crew members with their tasks until we had everything loaded into the truck and then headed over to the new house. Load time was about 3 hours.
---
At the new house we moved into:

Prior to meeting the Three Men and a Truck crew over at the new house, I had spoken with the guys about a couple of concerns in the new house: it has brand new wood floors! We wanted to make sure they took care during the unload process to prevent any damage to the flooring and I also let them know that there is a step-down from the main entrance into the remainder of house. Before starting the unload process they wrapped the front door in a pad and even put a bumper pad on the door frame to prevent any damage to the entrace. They put in a ramp at the door, a bumper pad at the step down, and even rolled out several rubberized runners throughout the lengths of the house, living area, etc, so dolly wheels, shoes, etc, did not damage the flooring! As furniture was brought in, they placed every item where I wanted them in the house and even moved several things around as I changed my mind! Unload time was about 2.5 hours.
---
The aftermath:
After all was said and done, we settled the bill. I purchased a deal on Angie's List for $225 for three hours of moving so that was credited right off the top of the bill. Three Men and a Truck differ from other movers that I have used in that they do not have a trip charge; rather they have a fuel cost fee which is 10% of the total labor. In addition, they do have a reasonable charge for supplies (shrink wrap, tape, mattress bags) but it is not overpriced. They only billed me for one or two rolls of tape, maybe 3/4 a roll of shrink wrap, and two mattress bags -- they didn't overdo it on the supplies to make an extra buck! After all was said and done, between the fuel cost fee and the supplies, it was STILL far less than the one hour labor "trip charge" most providers hit you with. Total cost for the move was about $600.00 total and I gave the crew a decent gratuity on top of that. In the end, everything that was moved was in the same pristine condition it was prior to the move -- nothing broken, scratched, scuffed, dirtied or anything.
---
TL;DR:
Three Men and a Truck provided the best moving experience that I have ever had! It was reasonably priced, the crew was completely professional, courteous, and efficient, as well as extremely careful and considerate handling all of my household goods! Where were you guys five moves ago? If I could go back I would never use any other movers other than Three Men and a Truck!

FAQs for air conditioning projects in Fredonia, AZ

Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.

Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.

Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.

Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.

Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
