"A great experience from a terrific team. After we were told by our (now past) HVAC company that we needed a new furnace, I called Design by Comfort for a second opinion. When I called their office, the woman I spoke to understood my situation immediately and had their team on my doorstep at 8:00 the next morning, on the dot as scheduled. Their service specialist took apart the furnace inspected it and showed me by video the heat exchanger that our original contractor told me was bad.
Based on his very thorough examination, we knew that the furnace did not need replacement.
Obviously, the first company did not tell us the truth about the condition of our furnace so as to sell us a new one even though it was not needed.
The Design by Comfort team was honest, professional, and highly responsive. They saved me thousands of dollars. When the time comes, and it always does, for us to get a new furnace, they will certainly get our business.

"I received a phone call from the Boy's AirTech office the day before my scheduled service call confirming my appointment for the following day. The day of the appointment, I received a phone call from Chuck (service tech) to let me know that he was en route to my home and his estimated time of arrival. Upon arrival, Chuck immediately started a thorough system condition and performance inspection, using a detailed checklist. During this process, Chuck asked several questions about the system's history and past maintenance. He also offered several suggestions about ways to improve the system's function and upgrade its performance and efficiency. At the conclusion of his inspection, he sat down with me and gave me a summary report of what he found and provided me with a copy of the checklist - as well as a quote for the items that he recommended earlier that could enhance the system's performance. Since I can do most of my services remotely with you over the phone, I am hoping to eventually open up to larger markets and help people from having to take their computer in to get it fixed, if it has internet access, I can usually fix it over the Internet. I am my only employee, but I have over 20 years experience fixing computers, and providing superior customer service. I work on a flat rate service, and don't charge by the hour because I feel it's important to educate the customer on what the issue is/was, and how to avoid it in the future. I feel that local service companies (my competition) have been overcharging customers for years. I offer a first time customer discount of 10% but I will offer 15% off for first time customers referred by Angies List. I've lived in the Huntsville area most all my life, so I know the area very well. I will never use a subcontractor as I am very picky about making sure that if my name and company is associated with something, it will be the best experience my customer has ever had, and using sub contractors won't ensure that, so I prefer to do all the work myself. Lastly, I should point out that I am a former offensive lineman for the University of Southern Mississippi and was Brett Favre's center his freshman year at Southern. I went on to play for Tom Landry in his last year, but gave up pro football early on to pursue my passion of fixing computers. If I didn't have bills to pay, I would do this for free because I love it! If you have a computer problem, I promise you that you couldn't find a better technician that will care about you as a customer, and not about the bottom line. "I left a message asking Allen to come to my house and give me an estimate on regrouting my shower. My call was returned that evening and an appt for an estimate was set up for a couple of days later. Allen arrived within the hour blocked out for the estimate and did give me a call a bit before he arrived to assure me he was on his way. Allen looked at my bathroom and shower. My house was built in the early 40's and he could tell I have the original tile floor which is nice and in good shape but the tile in the shower and on the surrounding bathroom walls had been redone at some point. Over the past several years I had a few tiles chip and crack and had those replaced but was unable to match the original tile color exactly. Allen said that the tile job overall was not done very well and he wanted to give me a few options. I could have him regrout it but in the long run, especially if I ever want to sell my house, all new tile would have to be put in. He doesn't do that kind of work but he took the time to show me where to look online to find a qualified tile contractor. He gave me a couple of ideas of how I could do the job in steps; eg.: just tile the shower first and do something with the rest of the tile walls in the bathroom later. I appreciated his honesty. I will probably see if I can put the $ aside to retile the shower within the next year. Allen did say that my shower's condition doesn't appear to be causing any problems right now. So although I didn't hire Allen to do any work I would have felt confident in hiring him and could tell he cares about having the tile work done right."
