Small jobs welcome
"The salesman came to our home & was very professional & knowledgeable. We got several quotes but decided to go with this company because of the knowledge of the salesman. The technicians came to install the air conditioning on time, wearing masks, and did a fantastic job. There were no problems whatsoever with the install. They also were very neat & cleaned up after they were done. I definitely would recommend this company!"

"Joel is the ultimate professional and responded without delay! He came to do a quick overview of my Central air unit and graciously did not charge for the visit. Based on his assessment, I may not have to replace the unit but if I do, he will be the first person I call! TY Joel! Would highly recommend him."

"Outstanding example of what an Angie's List "super service" provider should be like. I chose this company on the basis of the "super service" designation, and I wasn't disappointed. These folks (1) return phone calls, (2) show up on time, (3) have reasonable prices, (4) demonstrate competency, and, (5) accommodate customers' schedules. This is not to mention the fact that they're pleasant and friendly. Carlos, the service tech that worked on my AC, couldn't have been nicer. Thank you Mull Brothers, and thank you Angie's List."

"There was a snag at the beginning when they realized, after beginning to dig, that the AC unit was on top of the oil tank and they'd have to call someone in to move it before digging could continue. That delayed things a few days, but thereafter they did a good job of digging and were very careful with our trees. They also took care not to ruin the lawn with the machinery. The new tank and heater were quickly put in the basement with no problems."

"Replaced oil furnace and Central Air unit..very neat and courtious workers. The best price out of 4 quotes and they installed TRANE equipment. Some minor snafu's which were fixed in a timely fashion."
Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
