"Randy was very fast and very efficient. Over all. He will talk with you about various options and let you know what to expect iwth each option. He's quick to let you know if something will require more money and is very fair with his pricing!
We were going to be the odd balls and give our daughter a unique room with her favorite colors (bright greens and a dark blue ceiling for adding glow in the dark stars to)
At the same time we were wanting to also paint our spare bedroom to brighten it up.
Randy came in and made sure to cover everything so that it wouldn't get any drips on it.
We ran into a few hassles with the original color of the walls not doing well with the yellow/lime green paint, but he worked it out and got it to look even and solid lime green.
He also helped us securely hang up a canopy over our daughters bed. He tested it and even crawled up into our tiny attic to make sure it would hold up if our daughter were to decide to pull on it.
He was always very friendly and willing to try his hardest to make sure that we were happy with his work.
I will highly recomend Hudson Home Repairs to anyone looking for paint and/or home repairs

"These ladies rocked! We've tried others in the past who would not perform all the services they advertised, just wiped things down, and were overpriced for the little service the provided - just a waste of money. However, these ladies performed absolutely everything advertised and far exceeded all expectations! They were on their hands and knees scrubbing! The house smells amazing, all the dust boards and ceiling fans dusted, appliances spotless...even washed down the doors and that gross space behind the toilets. These ladies "CLEANED" and did not disappoint. There was a slight scheduling issue initially (I failed to check my email) but they easily resolved it. The rain also caused some traffic and delayed their arrival; however, they kept us well informed and provided accurate ETA. Just fantastic! Definitely plan to use them again!"

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

FAQs for acoustic ceiling tiles install projects in Brownsburg, VA

Ask the following questions to make sure you know what’s involved and that you’ve hired a good team:

  • Is your company licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • What is the best tile size for my project?

  • What fire rating do my ceiling tiles need?

  • How long will it take to install the drop ceiling?

  • What is the height of the finished drop ceiling?

Most residential building codes require a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet from the floor to the finished drop ceiling, ensuring adequate headroom and safety compliance. Since requirements can vary by location, consult your local code enforcement office or a professional installer to confirm the specific clearance needed for your project.

Installing a drop ceiling results in a loss of ceiling height ranging from 3 inches to 8 inches. The exact amount depends on factors like the size of the fixtures above, such as ductwork or lighting, and the manufacturer's recommendations for installation. Local building codes also dictate minimum ceiling heights, so it's important to consult with a professional installer to determine the optimal drop distance for your specific space.

Installing drywall costs between $1.50 and $3 per square foot for materials, labor, and finishing—significantly less than the $9 to $13 per square foot average for a drop ceiling. While drop ceilings come with a higher initial cost, they offer greater design flexibility, easy access to utility lines, and are simpler and less expensive to repair. To minimize expenses, consider budget-friendly fiberboard panels, though their appearance may be less appealing to some homeowners.

Drop ceilings offer several advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Easy to install and repair

  • Conceal stains, ductwork, and other unsightly elements

  • Provide quick access to ducts and wiring for maintenance

  • Available in various styles to suit your design preferences

Cons:

  • Reduce ceiling height

  • Tiles may require replacement after a few years

  • Less sturdy than traditional ceilings

  • Installation can be more time-consuming than drywall

Removing a drop ceiling costs between $2 and $7 per square foot, which includes disassembling the rail system and removing tiles. Factors such as ceiling size, accessibility, and disposal fees affect the total cost. If you're removing a drywall ceiling, expect costs of $2 to $4 per square foot. Hiring a professional ensures safe removal and proper disposal, preventing damage to underlying structures.
