Customers say: Quality work
"I spoke with Mr. Tom about my fallen closet shelf. He promptly came out to my home yesterday and repaired the shelf and it took him less than one hour. He was very professional, courteous, on-time, and just an all around nice guy; he and his son both. My wife inquired about hanging a picture that I have no skills in hanging and he told her he would be back next week to hang it for us. Great guy, great work, and very personable."

"We had a screen porch and open deck built on the back of our house. Attention from the owner of American Services of TN was amazing! He called daily letting me know what was completed that day and what would be done the next day. This company does a LOT of screen porches. Owner suggested finishes and materials we had not considered. The finished project is more beautiful than we imagined going into this addition. Workers were present every day from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Worked every day. Entire project completed in just a few weeks! Top quality materials and workmanship! We are extremely happy with the results. Quote for the project was in line with other quotes from other builders."

"I highly recommend Belle Haven Builders. Garry is professional, honest, strong work ethic, creative and detail oriented. We are appreciative of his commitment to make our dream home a reality. He made our project a priority as we did a complete home reno. He was present on site everyday to oversee the project and stay on top of the process. We are and will continue to recommend this company to others. Great workmanship."

"Midtown completely renovated my kitchen and it turned out GREAT. Their carpenter, David, was so nice and friendly and TALENTED! He completely built two cabinet doors to match all my other doors. He also did some small projects for me on the side as well. I loved going around to pick out my flooring, countertop, and appliances. And Midtown ended up sending me a refund because I apparently overpaid!! Highly recommended!!"

Butcher block countertops come in three main styles, each offering a unique look and function. Flat grain, also known as face grain, showcases the natural wood patterns, giving your kitchen a modern and elegant appearance. Edge grain is made from long, narrow wood strips, making it sturdy and providing a consistent grain pattern. End grain features a checkerboard pattern that is highly durable and perfect for heavy food preparation. Each style caters to different aesthetic preferences and usage needs, enhancing your kitchen's look and functionality.
With proper care, wood countertops can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years. To keep yours looking like new, clean up spills immediately and reseal the surface regularly—ideally once a month in the first year, then twice a year after that. Regular maintenance helps preserve the wood's beauty and durability for decades.
Wood countertops aren't hard to maintain if you keep up with regular care. Simply clean them with mild soap and water after use and reseal them monthly during the first year (then twice a year afterward). Using a food-grade oil or sealant protects the wood from damage. With a bit of routine maintenance, your countertop will stay beautiful and durable.
Wood countertops are sanitary with proper care and maintenance. By sealing them with a food-grade sealant and cleaning them regularly with mild soap and water, you create a barrier that prevents bacteria from getting into the wood. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to keep it hygienic and safe for food prep.
It's best to oil raw wood countertops once a month during the first year. After that, you can oil them twice yearly to keep them in good shape. If your countertop is professionally stained or sealed, you might not need to oil it as often. Regular oiling helps prevent drying and cracking, preserving the wood's natural beauty and durability.
