"I needed an Emergency septic pumped out, it had backed up into the lower tub. They were busy as others that I called that day, but Tony said he would get it pumped ut but it may be later as they were on another job. Later Josh called and said he would be here today even if it was later tonight. Well he showed up, it was dark by then about 8 pm and he got the job done just as he promised. and he wanted to know the system checked out ok before he left. Very professional and a job well done."

"Alaska Foundation Technologies (AFT) excavated the entire 20" wall down to and including the footing partially with a small excavator but mostly by hand. The soil removed was relocated to another area on my property. They removed the crushed Egress Box, the old covering on the exterior wall (Tar Paper which had been Hot Mopped), power washed the All Weather Wood sheeting, installed Bituthain mastic over the sheeting, rebuilt the Egress Box to code and attached it to the foundation walls. In addition they installed 2" Foam Board to the entire wall (which was not part of their initial design). They then installed a 4" perforated drain pipe the length of the 20' wall and continued approximately another 30' with a solid drain pipe where it reached "daylight". They back filled the area excavated with 2" minus drain rock. All construction materials were removed to my satisfaction, the lawn damage was minimal. On the interior of the Bedroom, they repaired 3 studs. I removed the sheetrock, installed new R-21 insulation installed replacement sheetrock on the interior wall (I had agreed to do this before hand to keep the cost down a little bit).
This contractor was prompt, punctual, completed the work ahead of schedule, and provided me with a written agreement on scope of work and cost before the work was started. The also Warranted their materials and workmanship for five years."
Depth depends on the type of installation and the regulations in your area. Water supply lines typically require 24 inches, while drainage pipes are often installed 36 inches below grade. For most general projects, a depth of 12 to 24 inches and a width of about eight inches is sufficient. Sticking to these specs keeps your utilities safe, code-compliant, and easier to maintain later.
When you need to run utilities underground, you’ve got two main options: boring or trenching. Boring employs directional drilling to install utilities without exposing a continuous channel, while trenching requires excavating an open channel to place utilities securely. Directional drilling preserves landscape integrity, whereas trenching provides direct access for installation, albeit with greater surface disruption. This clear comparison helps you select the method best suited to your project.
Plan on 12 hours to dig 100 linear feet when the soil is cooperative and you can work continuously. This timeframe applies when work is performed consistently and methodically. Factors such as rocky soil, tree roots, obstructions, and frozen ground increase the overall duration, demanding extra planning and effort. Comprehensive operational planning ensures that every challenge is managed efficiently and the project is completed on schedule.
If you want your yard to look untouched, laying fresh sod over the trench is the quickest fix. New sod needs 30 to 45 days to root and blend with the rest of your lawn. A local sod pro can provide you with a firm timeline and tips to ensure the grass takes hold and maintains your curb appeal.
