"Taylor came the first time and repaired a fraying cable. Our system was old and the motherboard, that activated remotes, was dead. The springs were mismatched because the former company had added a second spring that did not match the first. The door did not operate quietly and smoothly, either - lurching upon starting up and squeaking during movement. Given all of these issues, we decided to replace everything except the door to ward off future problems. Taylor did not charge us for the first call, but instead, logged it as a sales call. Taylor and his co-worker, Matt, came back for the system upgrade because my husband's garage is really crammed, making repairs difficult. The two of them worked together and replaced the system in less than two hours. Both Taylor and Matt were very professional and answered the questions we had. They switched out the new remotes to key chain versions from visor clip-on ones, when we expressed security concerns with the latter. My husband and I would be very comfortable recommending this company to anyone needing garage door repairs or replacement."

"They came and they did the job. Very good and nice quality. They showed up what time they supposed to be. The garage door is about 2 years now and I never encounter any issues. I would definitely hire them again."

"First, the service call cost of $59 apx. is GREAT compared to the "main" Overhead Door (our brand of grage door opener & door) provider in Charlotte, they charge $130. Tech had to re-wire a connection on the garage door sensor, which was included in the service cost. He was honest about services they offered & what was REALLY important for us to replace/fix vs. what was 'above' what was really needed at this time. The overall cost of the springs we needed was a little high at $118 each, but after looking at the springs myself, it was obvious this was an integral part that really did need replacement to keep our (heavy) garage door SAFE and operational without having issues that would just re-appear in another month or two (house/door is just over 5.5 years old).
Tech was EXTREMELY polite and helpful! In addition, it was obvious he knew exactly what he was doing and was able to fix things very fast! It was very reassuring and gained my immediate trust in his ability and his company.

"Arrived promptly and knew what to do to get my garage door working again. I appreciated that he did not push me to upgrade my door or to replace a motor that was still working."

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
