"This is a lot of references rolled into one. Mitch from The Carpet Store in Sylmar certainly doesn’t have a glossy showroom, but has everything, is a good person and works with a lot of contractors. When I asked for a reference, Mitch said that flooring is the last step on a lot of renovation jobs. The contractor he doesn’t hear complaints about is Tony of TME. I also checked Houzz and the other websites and they say the same thing that I’m saying here. If you can, work with TME. Tony is a human buzz saw. He is always there, works hard, fast, meticulously and at a reasonable cost. That is just great but there is more. It was fun to work with Tony. (His sense of humor can be a real groaner, but, much as I hate to admit it, I’m still smiling.) He is honest, genuinely cares about what you want, the quality of the work and the schedule. He brought in a group of workers who were a pleasure to have in the house and who had been with him for years. I also recommend using his advice. He is smart and experienced and has a very good eye about what is going to work and look good. I had a complicated project. Work was needed on damage from past leaks, mold checking (a science in its own right) and 2 1/2 bathroom remodels. He did everything meticulously to code. The results were just beautiful. Tony became a friend, and I will certainly keep working with him."

"Derek, the owner of Local Home Services, Inc, did an outstanding job for me. I would definitely hire him again in the future. He installed a new LED flourescent light over my kitchen sink in my apartment (something I had been wanting for over a year. He also installed a new switch in my art studio so and a new overhead light fixture that can now be turned on without flickering. He made several trips to Home Depot to find just the right light to install in the middle of the ceiling. In addition, he installed a file closet room. Now I don't have to stand on a chair in the dark to look for things. The total cost for labor and materials was just $492.50. What a deal I highly recommend this company. "GM Pacific Pro replaced the 30+-year-old roof on the 1960s rancher we just bought. Gil was able to give us an estimate based on what he could see of the place on Google Earth, and was spot on. He helped us pick a roof color based on the colors we've selected for the rest of the house. Then he and his crew blitzed the place, replacing the roof in four days. "Based on Angie's List reviews, I chose L.A. Custom Tile to contact regarding my small tile project.  Within a few hours after sending an email through Angie's List on April 12th, Mark responded to my email and requested that I call him for an appointment.  Two days later, on April 14th, Mark came to my house to discuss the project.  I knew the look I wanted for the front porch and steps was that of wood plank flooring but I wasn't sure if the porcelain plank "wood look" tiles could be installed over the existing brick and mortar.  I showed Mark the sample of tile that I wanted to install and he assured me that he could do the work and it would look beautiful.  With that assurance, I made my final decision on the tile and emailed Mark on May 14th with the specifications - thickness, width, edges, bullnose and heights available.  We decided that the 8" height would work best.  Mark came to my house again to take final measurements for the amount of 8" and bullnose tiles and grout to order.
Once the product was purchased and I was ready to proceed, Mark and I set up an appointment for the installation.  He arrived promptly and worked diligently over the course of three days, always cleaning the area before leaving.  He is professional, respectful and takes pride in his workmanship, which is exceptional.  Mark has an engaging personality and is a pleasure to have around.  The final result of my "wood look" porch and steps exceeded my expectations.  Mark loved it so much he said he wished he could take it home with him!  I have had numerous compliments and everyone thinks it is actually wood.  Mark has great attention to detail and is a true artist and perfectionist.  I live in a 60-year old house with three bathrooms that need remodeling and I'm looking forward to working with Mark on those projects in the near future.  I highly recommend Mark!  His pricing is fair and the quality of his workmanship is the BEST!  I NOMINATE L.A.
