"Our review is based on the purchase (part 1) for replacing siding for both side of our home. Jacob L. was very professional, on time, and honest. He knows what he is selling. We learned a lot about our home during his presentation. Before we bought our home we paid for a professional home inspection. We thought our house inspector was very good but he did miss something---the siding on the sides of our home was installed extremely bad. "Excellent! Our original Hardiplank siding had been installed 15 years ago. Areas where snow piled and sat against it during a harsh winter had caused portions of the siding to crumble and flake. There were two areas that needed new Hardiplank installed (the back of the house and one side of the house). Based on the great Angie's List reviews, I called Jim the Handyman. They quickly scheduled an appointment to come out to the house and give us an estimate. They got back to me in a few days with a very reasonable and detailed estimate. The work was scheduled for the following week. Carlos did the work and did a fantastic job! His work was meticulous. He carefully removed the old Hardiplank boards, checked behind them to look for possible water damage or intrusion (none found), installed the new Hardiplank boards which matched exactly, and then had the paint matched so that the new Hardiplank color would match and blend with the old. (He caulked the areas where appropriate.) There were a few rotted trim boards that he also replaced and painted. Our house now looks great! He worked very carefully and meticulously - overall did a wonderful job! He also cleaned up the area beautifully after completing the job. He was also very careful about where he placed his ladder so as not to damage any landscaping. We were very impressed by his attention to detail and fine skills. A true pleasure to work with! Thank you!! Would definitely hire this company again and plan to add them to our neighborhood recommended list. Thank you, Carlos and Jim the Handyman!"

"I was so happy with the work that Young Environmental did in my rental home.  I am located in another state and couldn't fly back when the basement of my rental home flooded in June.  I had had a few not-so-great experiences with other contractors, so I joined Angie's List to hopefully make some more progress with getting the repairs done.  I contacted 3 companies in order to get a quote to do the work.  I spoke to Peter over the phone and was impressed that they would send someone out to do the estimate in person, the other company just guessed based on the information I gave them over the phone.  The estimator came out the next day and I had the quote later that afternoon.  I spoke to Peter again to ask more questions about the process, and then decided to use Peter as his quote was better than the other company and I liked his professionalism.  The work was scheduled to be done the following week and the team showed up on time and took the estimated time they said they would.  I was able to take care of payment over the phone with Peter while the team was doing the work, and he even honored the Angie's List discount the following day when I realized that I had forgotten to mentioned it originally.  Overall, one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor and I would definitely recommend this company to others that need abatement work done.

"Their salesman, Richard, was very professional and took time to try to get every detail correct.  When an error was found, it was corrected promptly.  Their price was slightly above the other two bids, but the apparent quality made the extra cost seem justified.  In the end, I believe that the price was reasonable.
Their roofing work was superior and the changing/re-sizing of the gable vent was perfect.  They did everything exactly according to plan.
However, the wrapping of the door and window frames did not go well.  The bending and fitting of the aluminum is very nice, BUT, the caulking work was not acceptable.  The lines were too thick and wavy. The poor caulking work detracts significantly making the final appearance less than satisfactory.  Also, even after spending time talking to the sales representative, the crew did not know to seal and wrap the metal lentils above the windows.  This should be standard practice - otherwise the homeowner is left with a small but very aggravating paint job to do.  Every other home in my neighborhood whose window frames are wrapped, have the lentils wrapped in one piece with the top of the window frame.  When they came back several days later to do this, they patched things together leaving nail heads exposed.  When I compare the appearance of the work on my home with the work done by a company that received lower grades on Angie's List, the work on my house does not look as good.
The accounting for the job also did not go smoothly, although it turned out okay in the end.  I received two erroneous "final" invoices before receiving a correct one.  They were just mistakes.  I don't feel that they were deliberate attempts to overcharge me.
The company did not provide cell phone contact information for their operations supervisor.  When I called the company to complain about the workmanship of the caulking being done, I had to go through the switchboard and THEY had to contact the supervisor.  I did get his phone number from him when he came by as a result of my complaints regarding the caulking workmanship.  I feel that the company should give the customer the contact information for the management person that is responsible for overseeing the job.
In saying that I would use Roofing and More in the future, I would do it with some trepidation.  I would definitely recommend them for roofing, but not for window/door frame wrapping.
