"Chuck and Peter were excellent to work with. They helped me through all steps of a difficult permitting process. They sourced hundreds of custom stone, tile, countertop, plumbing fixtures and other items I had picked out. Their foreman was awesome and easy to work with. They had answers to all my questions and were quick to resolve any issues that came up during the build. They really went out of their way to ensure I was a satisfied customer. I highly recommend the Village Builder."

"We contacted five firms for bids and three returned our calls. From the very start of the bid process, we were impressed with Dorson's level of professionalism and attention to detail. After a thorough walk-thru of the property and listening to what we wanted to accomplish, we met about a week later to review his bid - in person, not in an email like others had done. We expected a one to two-page estimate with a laundry list of our project items - what we received was a bid "package" with detailed statement of work, estimates for each part of the work to be done, pictures of before (from those he took in our initial walk-thru) and proposed after pictures of items that would be used in our renovation including web site references for products he was proposing. My husband and I were very impressed with the time and effort that went into putting the package together. Again, it was well thought out, provided options, solutions, and the level of detail that gave us high confidence in choosing Dorson and Jackson Construction for the work. As we progressed with the renovation, Dorson coordinated all sub contractors, introduced them, allowed them to do their work, frequently checked in and always reviewed the completed work with us after it was done. Every subcontractor that worked on our property was professional, courteous, and left the site tidy after every work day. With every project, when uncovering old material, you never know what you may find - and we did have a couple of surprises that required extra time and material to make right but Dorson worked to ensure that it was the best long-term solution and one that made sense with our budget. Dorson was always accessible, always provided a "heads up" on our schedule for the week for subs, and we never wondered at what phase we were in our project schedule. Another (pretty awesome) thing I have to mention regarding Dorson's attention to detail - he would observe things, like the water pooling in our front yard from a poorly installed drain - and would come back the next day with a write up of a solution including diagrams, pictures, etc. - and not to say "here, if you pay me, I'll fix this" but "here's something I noticed and here's how you can fix it". His mind is always working, observing, looking for solutions to make something better. My husband and I are very happy that we chose Dorson and Jackson Construction for our renovation - and actually a bit sad to have it ending - the dust and activity won't be missed, but Dorson will be. A fine human being, a man of integrity, and a fantastic sense of humor to go with - we are hoping to stay in contact with him on a social as well as professional basis. I would recommend Jackson Construction without hesitation. Our expectations were consistently exceeded throughout our project and we are extremely pleased with the end result."

"Replaced deteriorated exterior siding where needed, installed several new double pane windows, replaced old carpeting with new hardwood floors, coordinated subcontractors for electrical repairs and interior house painting. All work was done professionally and to our satisfaction. Very impressed with Cody's quality management. He inspected all work by his team as well as the subcontractors to verify that the work was done correctly and to his satisfaction. I can highly recommend Valley Brothers Construction and will call them again if we need further contractor work done on our house."

"Charles and his son Scott did an excellent job of replacing our old rickety porch with one that is much, much more solid. The challenges they faced included mucky soil due to a recently removed stump and an uneven concrete pad. Almost the whole project was done in the rain. They leveled the pad and built a great system of supports that widened our porch as requested and improved its appearance and safety enormously. All done on time and in budget. I highly recommend their services."

"I had a 15 foot section of sidewalk the city mandated required replacement. Toro DEMOd and replaced the sidewalk in one day. The work was clean and defect free. Further complicating it was the sidewalk had a 4 foot wide section to a 5 foot wide section. They measured and lined out the frames to cleanly taper it in to the point where it is not noticed at all. Will definitely call them again for future projects. Will definitely call them again for more projects."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in Albany, OR

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
