I'd originally considered engineered quartz but when three styles I chose turned out to be backordered I took a fresh look at the Corian offerings and chose a Private Collection style in Clamshell. The material is one and a half inches thick with the plywood backing so it replicates the solid look of stone countertops, even around the sink, where Heartwood also built it up. I have gotten so many compliments on it, especially from people who don't realize there are alternatives to granite.
