"We originally hired Rolling Green to simply tear down an old fence and put up a new one, but it ended up turning into a much bigger project, including landscaping and a porch redesign. What I appreciated most was the transparency. They were upfront about all costs from the start and kept communication clear throughout the whole process. It’s rare to find a crew that can jump from fencing and masonry to carpentry without losing momentum, but they handled the shift perfectly. The work is solid and extremely well done. Scope of work included: Fencing - Old fence removal and new install Landscaping - Palm tree installation, edging, and rock beds Carpentry - Added a new door and stairs to the screened-in porch Masonry - New mailbox installation"

"Pete was amazing. He demoed the existing chimney brick, and replace with all new brick once the chimney was rebuilt and properly supported. Pete arrived on time every day, he completed the work timely and did a very high quality job. I would hire Pete again in a second and without any hesitation! Quality, professionalism and respect are qualities you can expect from Pete."

"Hail damage occurred in March of this year and I contacted Braswell Construction as well as 2 other local roofing companies. Chris Gaugler contacted me asap and came out to the house. The other two roofing companies I never heard back. Braswell Construction contacted my insurance company and worked out all the details. A week later I had a brand new roof with gorgeous colored shingles. Everyone in the neighborhood stopped by and literally knocked on the door to inquire. Chris Gaugler was onsite and available for questions anytime to the very end. The crew only took one day to do the house, extended 4 car garage and well house. Photos attached and it really makes a difference."

"Ricky Boger and his crew are the best in the low country. Hurrican Matthew put a sixty foot pine tre through our home. Superior Home Improvement came to the rescue and truly went above and beyond to bring our house back to better than new condition. They completely remodeled a bathroom, removing a tub and installing a custom walk I shower. It turned out fantastic. They handled everything for plumbing and electrical to paint and flooring. Ricky Boger is a man of integrity who does what he says he is gonna do when he says he is gonna do it."

"Justin (owner) and Sarah (project manager) were extremely genuine people that I loved working with. Justin made sure all the work met his quality standards throughout. Sarah was always there and willing to walk me through everything from picking out my fixtures to handling any small issues that came up throughout the project. Customer service is the #1 most important thing to me and I feel like the team at Southern Home Solutions actually cared about me and my project. Great job guys! This was a full bathroom remodel with added walk-in shower."

"That particular company had been getting a bad rep before we used them. We went ahead and used them and it was not an insurance claim and they did an excellent job. They're competitive and very comparable to everybody else in our area. They're not any more expensive, they're not any less. They do a really good job, what they promise to do, they do."

"We have used this provider before so we knew we could trust him to allow him to do the replumbing on our house while we were out of town on vacation.  Our house (which we bought as foreclosed) continued to have problems with stopping up in one of the downstairs baths.  We were leaving for vacation on the day that we had a major backup and called Jason and Eddie Turner.  They came out immediately and unstopped the drain and showed us with pictures how the problem kept  happening because of a really bad plumbing job of the piping.  We told him we would have to wait until we returned to have them replumb.  He told us that they could come out and complete the job without our being here since they would not need to come into the house to do it and we would not have that to deal with when we got back.  They came on Sunday to start the job and finished it on Monday according to our neighbors.  They always clean everything up (which they did on the backup before we left on our vacation inside the house).  They even called us while we were gone to let us know that it was complete and also that they had found a leak in the water line which we told them to fix (we knew there had been a small one but it had gotten worse)  They did not even charge us for fixing that part of the pipe which they took out and replaced. <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Allenhurst, GA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
