"He has done multiple projects for us and am very pleased with his work. He always explains what is going to happen. He warrants his work and will come back at charge if something is wrong. No contractors have been as thorough or as interested in what I needed. He really listens to what I'm asking for."

"The first time they put the roof on, there were leaks but they're now repairing it. They replace it again and they are repairing any damage that was done inside. I think they're doing a good job. We had a flat roof so it was hard to do so they put a little slope on at this time. Its hard to predict if you have rain of what it's going to be like. They will replace some flooring because we had a little bit some damage on that. They're taking care of it because there is a two year guarantee."

"We contacted Mr.Keyner after seeing reviews on Angie's List. We contracted with him to have several projects done: chimney repair; refinish wood parquet floors; replace a large, cast-in-cement fence post; raze a dog run, leaving the cement slab ready to install another building. At the time we were new to Amarillo, trying to get an older house ready to move into, and in the process of moving from another state so we could not be on site often. It took some time to schedule time with Mr. Keyner but it was worth the wait. He had the jobs above done with a reasonable time and all with excellent results. We had earlier contacted craftsmen but were frustrated by "no shows" for appointments. Before meeting Mr. Keyner, we found it very difficult to locate qualified people who would even talk to us. We could do little cost comparison but consider the quality work done well worth what we paid. <br />"

"The owner was Joe De Vries. He does additions,  framing for doors, windows and cabinet tops. He also does patio covers, remodeling as well as exterior and interior painting. He re-morters brick and does fence repair and replacement. He does everything.I would recommend him to everybody. We just used wood and different things out of wood. He's honest and does good job. He's very reasonable on his rates. He charged $40 an hour. He did excellent work. He is bonded, insured and licensed."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Amarillo, TX

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
