"I was extremely satisfied with the professional conduct of this job. I had carefully designed the structure of the shed. It was important that all the dimensions of the slab be met accurately and that the 6 posts be placed precisely and perfectly vertical. They were. Working with Jaime was very satisfying as we had numerous discussions about details as the job progressed. I provided some large salvage planks from the old shed that could be used to build forms, and he provided several significant suggestions to improve the end result. The slab was on a slight slope. He provided much deeper concrete on the downhill side to anchor the slab and resist underwash. He provided a large footer under each post before the main concrete pour, because the posts were going to carry the entire weight of the roof. I would not have thought to do that. This is the value of hiring an experienced contractor. The shed has been completed and the first delivery of sawdust has been made. The slabs stood up to the significant weight of the delivery truck as can be seen in my pictures."

"Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time. The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time. However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain. He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house. Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks. Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it. The finished product was professionally done. Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied. Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

"Mike and his crew installed drainage pipe to take care of the drainage problems front and back. In addition, the house had settled and water was creating a moat around the back of the house on the old concrete (not good for the foundation) when it rained hard. He then had the old concrete walkway removed and had installed a beautiful new walkway in pavers. It was a pleasure to work with Mike and his master crew!"

"The work was completed as promised, but there are minor problems with both the walkway and steps. The curve of the walkway has places where the wooden concrete forms didn't match up, leaving ~1 inch corners sticking out instead of a smooth curve. The concrete front step doesn't completely fill the space against the house (a couple of gaps remain) so I worry that water could get in and eventually damage the step. Otherwise, the walkway looks good."

"Our front steps were unevenly spaced with an almost 10" drop to the first step. Mr. Langhorne explained how they would bring the steps into code and keep them from separating from the porch again. His sons arrived on time and completed the job in one day as promised. Something that was not planned for, but turned out to be unavoidable was the fact that the railing needed to be removed, as the angle was now wrong. Not to worry a call was made to a guy who could assist with the iron work to replace the hand rail.
Caution tape was posted around the steps so no one would walk in wet concrete. They not only cleaned up our yard but also replaced the grass divots removed before the steps were poured. We are very satisfied with the work and will definitely use Langhorne Concrete services in the future.

"We noticed a significant hole developing in our shared alleyway, which seemed to worsen quickly. Also there were other depressions in our driveway where the asphalt was on the verge of giving way. After trying to contact multiple contractors and leaving several voicemails, the only one who responded promptly was Patrick from Capitol Hill Masonry. He came out immediately to assess the issues and provided us with a quote without delay. Once we approved the work, his team began the project the same day and completed everything by the following day. We are extremely pleased with the quality of their work. Patrick and his team were friendly and took the time to patiently answer all our questions. I would highly recommend Capitol Hill Masonry to anyone in need of masonry services."
